many of you that have seen and helped me with ways to moddify the dtr i have , many thanks i finaly got her back a week ago after the rebuild and shes loverly ....few things people....1 she seems to only wanna pull hard to say 75 then she struggles to go faster .... today my back box had snapped off which i wernt too pleased about mind u which would affect if she was blowing alot???
2, where do i go from here shes has had a rebuild with a slightly bigger piston not major just a slight over size....been jetted...drilled airbox etc but i wounder were to go from here which be cool to hear...
3 visauls i am in the process of ordering green coolant hoses , rad overflow hose (green) and maybe green brake hoses or stainless steel braided ones....and a reel of green hose to replace the carb and fuel lines etc just a bit of visaul ...
4,am currently working on a way to run a HID KIT on her thru battery wil keep everyone informed how we get on
look forward to all your feed back will post some pictures tomo but shes bit ruff around edges still wanna get her wheels dun and new panels on before i respray :)
Its a 125 and a dt so don't expect too much more, if you really want speed either put loads of money into it for tuning (170 kit for example), or buy something like an rs125, or just get a bigger bike, simples :D
...... but anyway different models have different restrictions (some cdi's are restricted, cats in the re's etc), could be your sprocket setup and it can also you as a rider, i.e early gear changing, weight of the rider and luggage, etc
If your backbox was blowing it won't affect your power. The silencer is there to do just that, silence the noise. Was it a DEP silencer that snapped? What exactly do you mean by that, get some photos up.
Whats an HID kit?
If it is pulling hard to 75 then thats good. As said its a 125 trail bike, 80 will be about your limit.
Drilling the airbox, I hope you re jetted after the airbox was drilled? I personally can't see the point in doing this.
As Reef said there are many restrictions on the bikes and these changed throughout the production life of the bike but if you've already had the help to get them all done then there isnt much more to do but enjoy the bike.
75 is good for a 125, i was Following Harry on his DT at 80 and it seemed stable, personally i wouldnt want a 125 to go any faster! faster = less reliablility!
the hid kit is a high intensity discharge bulb basicly is a amped up headlight bulb bit chavy its just used to cut out which was due to how it was wired ..... erm yes a dep back box it snaped on the bend tho which is a stress point and its alloy pain to get dun so i will buy new systerm ....it was jetted to suit the drilled box it was only done to give it a bit more induction grunt :) ok jw does 80 fine but likes to sit at 75 its cool i dont mind that its not faster shes a good ride ;) pictures soon away for work for a week
