Gold like covering on the bore/cylinder insides and the inside of the crankcasing?

+1 on that. crankcase on my filed bike has that coating,1st time i've ever seen it. thought it was just mine?

nikasil is a hard shiny chrome type coating for barrels. cant work out what this gold stuff is or why its there? cant find any mention of it anywhere?
seen it on a few now specially the older ones, its an anti porus coating, in the early ytears they sufferd porus cases after a while, it was just a design flaw in the materials used for the alloy, later fixed...so i got told any way
makes sense that but... ive had 4 early 90's dt's and they didnt have it,plus my field bike has a 96 4fl lump in it?
