bloody hell ............

hard to tell if it would run that bikes gone need some time effort and research ..first identify what bike model and year it is then we can go from there by finding maybe a forum or service manuel for it..

would say get get all the engine and parts on a bench and give a good clean /service and strip to see whats there -whats needed-and whats missing

and dont just go banging fuel in it and trying to start as you may kill what is good or worn. at the bare min clean lube and oil parts strip the carb and check gear oil if any .

thats a real project there mate and not for the faint hearted or small wallet .. at the very least or last resort clean and polish what you can and assemble the bike best you can to make it look complete and sell to some one who knows about vintageclassics ..

get the make model and year cc any info you can and ill try find more info for you about it ....

on a side note the wife has a uncle in nz who got his hands on a bike in the same kind of shape for not many £££-$$$ and after research the reg and bike found it was once ridden by some 1960's film icon and it was worth a mint ...

Even if it never gets built, the number plate may be worth a few bob to a big knob at a yachting club somewhere that begins with an 'M' or a 545 Beemer

If you need a hand getting it done properly,  you'll need to get in touch with some distant relative of mine up near Inverness, apparently we share the same great, great grandfather that came from Italy,
anyroad he showed me his bikes when I looked him up a couple of years ago, I kid you not, he has about 15-20 old Triumphs like that all in pristine concourse condition, he doesn't renovate them himsen, he gets some other bloke to do it for him, but might be usefull for help/parts etc.
Give him a bell, or e-mail

If you can afford one you, need to invest in an ultra sonic cleaner, rather than sand/bead/shot blasting, gives a much better finish than the pock marked finish you get from blasting.

wirewool is great any abrasive bit not to corse for polishing cleaning up alloy some would strip  first  but Ilike to give a good clean prior to stripping .. would also say wd 40/penetrating oil every knutt / bolt and screw in fact every thing and leav to work as long as possible  .

wish I had that in my shed right now would be out there tinkering till the late hours lol ..

Actually meant buy one lol, around the ton mark for a half decent one, plus you can earn a few bob off lads in here needing carbs etc cleaning, but if yer gonna get someone else to do it, fair play, let them have the headache.

I hope you do end up getting is restored to 100% former glory, damn I've done projects with half the work needing doing and points just got fed up with it and couldn't be bothered - but always pulled through and got them completed in the end

Good luck, especially with sourcing the parts!

Sorry about the extremely late reply lol. I forgot about this thread. No he hasnt got spares. He bought his as a museum piece and was going through cancer treatment at the time so it's been put at him mums house in dorest and sat there since. Now he's better he's gonna bring it back here, fix the oil leak and do a few little bits. Will have to keep in touch as I'm sure my Dad will be taking his to shows in the next years so If you get yours done and will be at any we'll have to meet up.
