i have to cut that off for my v-force reed block, but its the exhaust gasket i ment
Oh i see what you mean now. I read it as inlet manifold for some reason. Er i think my DEP has one of those collars that the pipe sits in and is held on by springs. I'll get you some info one the springs when i can. its right at the back of the shed as you see from my photos through the window last time lol! I "greased" the recess that the gasket sits into with bathroom silicone sealant and pushed a fibre gasket like the one in the link below, into that and then smeared some more sealant around the mating faces and bolted it on. I'm sure you can get the springs from somewhere as they merely hold the pipe into the collar i think and arnt for sealing.
Yeah they were on the lanza and the WR200 competition model. I've not seen one on many other bikes. Was with that YZ lot gadget. When i turned up he had a load of other bits so i bought the lot. Got the YZ swing arm, rear brake set up, a really damaged fmf exhaust etc. Will post some pics up of the bits tomorrow when i look through them and you can tell me what will be useful to you and ill get it boxed up.
have you got a spare manifold andy? want to see if its better than my modifyed one, also how long are your springs on your dep? mine didn't come with any, and does a gasket go behind the bolt on part? cheers
For the DT200wr you mean? No i dont im afraid. Only the one one the bike. Although I did find this photo of a YZ125 inlet manifold showing that it has the air "scoop" kind of bits to direct the air in the right place. I know theres been alot of talk about smoothing them out and cutting them off but I personally wouldnt bother as i don't think you'll gain anything and trust Yamaha. This is after a competetion bike and would have no need to be restricted.
Here is an exploded diagram of the inlet if that helps and is what you are talking about with the gasket? If you want a copy of that parts manual then drop me a msg and ill get it across to you.
Oh yeah and thats the manual for the WR200RD which is the competition model and uses the TM30SS as you can see from that perfectly accurate car drawing!
btw looking from the photo its not from a dt 230 the dt run a choke like the 125 a lever u push up and not a round lump you pull =/ but if your interested to sell im interested to buy XD
Yeah I reckon it was probably from the YZ but he said it wasnt. I'm probably gonna keep it tbh mate. I think i'll fit it to the DT200WR. Sorry mate I know that must be really frustrting. Are you stuck without carb at the mo or have you got one but need one like this. Cos I won't have the DT200WR going for a while so you could borrow til then if you're really stuck, i dno what kinda condition its in inside though and what bits its missing.
the 230 dident come with a carb at all lol iv half fitted a rs 28 mm to see if it runs but i was planing to buy a carb at the end of the month so thought if u wanted to sell id buy so its standard but no worry's mate lol ima get a tm34 carb XD btw looking more into it because its d shape slid i think its a tmx 30 =]
I made a right mess of it when I did it last time, The rubber manifold's quite thin and I ended up putting a stanly knife straight through it lol. Sure if I took my time it could of been done though.
the tm30x and tm30ss, is the pretty much same body, i think one might have warmer pipes
the D shape helps it slide better i heard
sorry to dig up an old thread but is that hole in he air boot standard ? because my dtr has some k&n style air filter rammed into the side of the air boot and i thought that the previous owner must have just cut a hole in the normal one and put this thing on.. but that looks like its ment to be there lol but surley that'll just suck in alsorts of ****e ?
Yeah what's meant to go there is a boost bottle, some people say its a restriction, others say its not, some people use a coca cola lid to seal it to remove the bottle and some people like myself keeps the bottle there :)
do you have a pic of it ? id rather have the boost bottle then this air filter i think. will the jetting need to be alterd if i just took this air filter off and seal the hole because the normal filter is there as normal aswell
I don't think it's called a boost bottle strictly. That's the bottle on the inlet above the reed block. I think it's listed as a duct. Search for some air boxes on eBay and you'll likely find one attached. Having seen that they also featured on the wr200 which was a competition bike, I can't see it being a restriction but havnt yet experimented to find out what difference it makes.
