if you like your off road then you wont belive the difference multi-adjustable set up is spot on. dont know about rear shocks, but one off a dt 200 r will fit and is multi-adjustable. its just finding one
If I keep the dt any longer I think I'm gonna have to do it, just not sure whether I might be better off in the long run to get a wr200 or similar, probably get a bit for the dt with them being learner legal and everything.
DT200 is fairly quick but the WR is a different engine in many ways and designed for higher performance ,forks are usd etc . I borrowed a 2011 Honda CRF250X when my son was over in June and the DT was just as quick but a lot softer on the suspension , brakes were good on the Honda though. I much preferred the 2 stroke power delivery on the loose gravel tracks out here . Your CRM250 should have been quick enough, maybe it was out of tune .

I want something a bit more mental now, gonna have the car on the road soon so reliability isn't really a problem either. How quick are the DT200's? I had a CRM250 a while back but that was pretty disappointing for a 250 tbh, did handle well though. Also depends how much I can get for my dt, around a grand would be nice.
