You just after the same engine?

I would have assumed any X or RE engine would fit, several differences to the DTR would need quite a few things changing as well

Engine is just a block of metal parts, if you get an X or RE (sorry I don't know engine codes) I don't see why you couldn't just plug it in and bleed the cooling system :) should be nothing else to consider

If you get a pre 2004 one though yes more things will need changing

There are not many plug n play engines avaiable for dtr/e/x. Most of them are from tzr. There are many engines that you could fit in your frame, but they all require nem engine suports, the engine's electrical part, carburation, etc. Here in portugal exists a dtr with a honda cr250 engine, and many other projects

so the short answer is a +04 re/x engine n nowt else as dont want to mess abt changin things
Just to be clear i obviously realise the afore mentioned engine will be a straight swap , just was curious if anything shares the same engine out of a 04 onwards re/x cheers ppl Doo
