Exhaust blowing? Power valve o ring gone?

Have you felt around the exhaust to feel for leaks? Or taken the power valve cover off to hava look?

I don't know how much either would affect the top speed, but it could explain the mess.

Hi guys, i have recently had a new engine (recon) put in my bike was fine at first flies when pv kicks in. Just my top speed is dog poo i only get about 55-57mph also i have noticed some oil?? leaking from the rivets in the exhaust and some oil spatter marks on the casing near the pv (see pic). Any help would be apprieciated in making the top end better and also the causes of the leaks. Thanks in advance, Grifter

WHATS YOUR PLUG LIKE?
looks like way to much oil to me that to come out top end most of its supposed to burn off should only get a druel if owt

my kx 500 was like this crank seals went and it was suclking in tranny oil...check the auto lube adjustment also see what mixtures like, wrong mixture will give lack of power leading to slower top end

Was there rain at the time of photo? That oil looks like its been in contact with water. I'd take the head off at very least. Could be a head gasket gone.

change all the gaskets rubbers around the powervalve and exhaust 1st easy job think iv got a pile spare somewhere too
my big one front pipe was a pain for splattering oil from there id check that out 1st.

try adjusting the powervalve 2 or 3mm to the right or just unplug its power see how it feels
get a gutted front pipe or a dep for more speed them big ones are rotten you have to keep the bike at its peak revs all through the gears to hit a high speed or it drops out of power in 6th gear an you in turn slow down alot.. hated the big one iv got ever other combination tho.
