After I go off roading I don't clean zi bike because I'm liking the muddy look (I also can't be arsed to clean). But now things are going rusty as **** and I gotta start pulling my finger out. But I'm thinking if I start cleaning my bike after I go off roading with soapy water isn't that just going to balls the rust up even more?

Bilt Hamber car shampoo is decent stuff, only need a cap full, neutralises all th salts and stuff, cleans well too, and protects, once a month is good, just hose down with a low pressure hose, inbetween

Does this mean you are a dirt road bandit? Treat the rust now, keeping it clean will prevent it for sure. As long as you clean and dry it you wont get rust. As someone before said, for rust you need 3 ingrediants.

Water
Oxygen
Metal

Remove the water and you'll remove the chance of rust.

Also, some fella recommended vinegar as a cleaner, but I don't want to ride around town smelling like a chip shop attracting all the fat chavs.

Cheers for the answers, I shall take it all onboard!

And AndyYam, you could say that. I live near Salisbury Plain which is 'the largest tank range in Europe' or something like that but I'm no good at off roading though because my back tyre is currently as bald as Phil Mitchell.
