Engine rebuild, gearbox re-assembly

Just in the  process of putting the engine back together and have dropped the gear cluster in to the relevant bearings. My concern is where i should re engage the selector forks with the drum. Do i need to have the drum in a certain position before i pop the pin they move on back in place?

I might still remove the lot again if i have problems with fitting the main bearings without heating the entire case but best be prepeared!
