I did mine the other day, so I still have it fresh up in the noggin
First put the friction plate on, then the pressure plate with its lug at 12o'clock, then put on the friction plate with the larger than the rest I/D, on inside the basket, then into that insert the wavy damper ring, then the next pressure plate, this time the lug needs to be at around the 2 o'clock position, alternate friction plate, pressure plate till finished, I marked the lug positions on my clutch holder tool, so as to make easy reference, it's important that the lugs are evenly spaced around the basket, so as to keep the clutch in balance.

If you hold on a bit like I say, Seiki will be on and sort it, it explains the sequence for the plates and lugs, and a picture of a clutch holder showing all the positions of the lugs marked on it.
i think what you've done is what i did (twice! xD), the pressure plate basicly has to be put on in a certain position so it sits all the way in, just take it off and keep putting it on in different positions and you will notice it will sit further in at one point
I spent ages looking for another clutch plate thinking i must have misplaced it lol.
I have another question, If you don't mind answering it... - Theres tabs on the metal spacer plate things (Don't know there name they go inbetween the friction plates) just wondering how they should be put in? (When i put them back in i positioned the tabs starting at 12oclock, then evenly spaced them out Eg 12,2,4,6,8 Oclock ect)
Thanks for the help, I realy appreciate it.
yes mate they all go in a certain way all explained in the manual...just get a 4 0r 5 mm bb from any where, pushbike shops sell loose bbs, i just cut am m5 bolt up b4 and used a 5mm bit ov that, worked a treat , u can also make longer 1s if you need to take more slack up if u get me
