That won't work. The DT stem is much smaller than those found in the yz.

What you'll need to do is to machine up an extension to the headstock to compensate for the longer stem. You'll have to machine the extension to take the tapered bearings of the yz.

Although it does depend on the year of the yz. Early yzs didnt use usd so I assume you are talking about the later models with the kasa sumit forks

Or you'll have to make a collar for the DT stem to fit the yz yokes.

If its anything like my usd forks then the bottom bearings might already fit. So you'll just nee to get rid of the bearings in the head stock. Make up an extension to increase the length and make it so it fits the top end bearing of the forks.

Loads of people do it another way. They grind the stem down on the usd pair and push the bearings over the top.

I was speaking some people on here an they said my way was much better.

It really isn't. It's no more trouble than pressing the stem out. Just use a vernier calliper to measure the internal diameter of the headstock. Measure how how the extension needs to be and how wide the outer race for the Bearing is. Then from that you draw a diagram. Had that to someone with a lathe and bond your uncle. It's fitting the wheels that will be harder. You'll need custom spacers. You'll need custom brackets for the brakes. And custom brackets for the speedo.

Also local? Any local garage will have a press. For a fiver they'll press the stems out. If they are the same size, which Mine aren't then he could press them back in

Like I said. It's going to matter what year. I'm sure they've changed designs over the years.

I'm no expert. I'm just being realistic.

Making everything custom isn't too much of a hard job. If you can't do it then you can always pay someone a minimal fee for it to get done. An qualified engineer should see the problem and sort it out in minutes.
