Yes it is rather odd. I have fitted a brand new speedo cable today and that still didn't seem to solve my problem. Also when out for a ride with my freinds 500 80kmh on my mph speedo was infact 60mph which actually should be 49ish mph I thought so speedo is 10mph or so out and will not go above 60mph reading when flat out although my bike can go way above that.

as above im getting a false speedo reading and flat out the speedo wont go above 50-60mph when i know full well the bike goes way above that. When i first got the bike it was fine and after many a wheelie it became dodgey any help would be greatly apreciated i have already bought and fitted a brand new speedo cable and this did nothing what so ever to fix or cure my problem.
Ah ok well looks like il get meself a new front wheel then rather than mess about. I want to go down the supermoto route anyhow :) thanks a lot for the advice tho.
Yeah. Seems odd that it would work at lower speeds and not when it gets faster. Could also just try unscrewing the cable out the back of the clocks. But of wd40 and back in again.
No clocks are fine as changed them from kmh to mph and even with the kmh clocks fitted I still had the same problem. I think the speedo drive units worn or broken.
