In what way do you mean? It's just the same number but in two places
By the way I don't have any documents except the V5
Edit: Done some research apprantely the sticker isn't important, nor is it essential to have two or more numbers on the frame. Only one stamped into the metal is needed.
So now the issue is how to make sure the number is still visable, mask it off and paint seperately or something?

From what i gather there are two VIN stamps on the frame, one on the side of the headstock and one on the front either a sticker or a riveted plate.
I bought a mates DT and want to get the frame powercoated whilst mine is still on the road so I can build it onto the new frame.
But obviously if it gets powdercoated the sticker will be ripped off, can the number on the side just be used or is the sticker vital as well? It's a bit confusing - if it is where can I get one from, I doubt yamaha would help
Mine is hardly visible due to the coating, you cant cover it up unless you get really inventive. Every time I MOT I just show previous documents (MOT dirt) and they match them up as best they can. should be fine but hold onto the plate if possible. Could always get it riveted back on
