Most of you are probably aware im going to be spending quite a bit of money (quite a bit for me as only being a student) on my bike, getting bradders to do the work, top end rebuild, powdercoating everything and other bits and bobs/ and hopefully rebuilding my wheels with stainless spokes and then the hub and rim getting annodised.
Anyway my question is, considering the fact that I passed my full bike license the other day, How much extra do you think I would have to pay for insurance if I informed them of these mods listed above and my dtx setup when im paying £500 for third party fire and theift, no points??
Im guessing an extra £200 but I dont want to call my insurance company and tell them of these untill I'm paid next month ;) its insured for two grand anyway
When I mentioned my aftermarket exhaust (DEP), my insurance increased by £30ish.
The insurance shouldn't skyrocket if post-mod, your bike is still just a 125cc.
Only expect a massive increase in insurance if you start pissing about with the cc, I.E. dramatically increasing the engine bore size. Then the insurance won't class your bike as 125cc and charge you 150cc/175cc prices.

In my experiences ins firms all have there own way of doing things and what works for one will not work for another , so the only way is to ring and ask , but if poss do it at renewal time that way you wont get the policy alteration charge added on top , some times just altering will encounter a fixed £30 charge for some thing there is no charge in policy for , mmmmm ,bl--dy con men
