Basically I need help the drain bolt for the coolant system is really badly rounded is there any other way to drain the system I need to do it asap because my bike is just running on tap water atm and its getting a lot colder any help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance guys Here's the bolt I'm trying to get out
Carefully using a dremmell or a 1mm cutting disc on a grinderette, cut in a groove on the screw head, then get an impact screw driver if a normal flat head one won't get it out.
Really good idea thanks nev :) one more quick question though once the system is drained and ive put the correct mixture in do i have to bleed the system or anything? Or will it ok if i just top it back up?
Run the bike with the rad cap off for a couple of minutes gets all the air out, top up if needs be, then bang the cap back on. also make sure the expansion bottle has coolant up to the 'MAX' mark
Ok mate thanks a lot I don't have a drummer or anything like that I've tried using a hacksaw to create a new head to remove it if you know what I mean but still no luck :( would it be ok If I just pulled the hose off the bottom of the radiator and get as much out as I can measure that in a jug and then put the antifreeze in if you get me ? I tried everything to get the bolt out managed to do the coolant so just gonna leave it now until ive got the funds to get the bolts replaced with the ones callum posted
Thanks for the offer nev i have nothing to replace it with i tried the hacksaw good idea with th file mdk but ive done the coolant now I'll just leave it until i can afford to make the bike in a bit better condition cheers for help guys
Thanks nev funny actually because Ive just been to change the gearbox oil and it was a blackish colour but then the drain bolt bloody snapped in the hole I dunno what to do mate?
Undo and take out all the screws and take off the clutch case cover carefully, so as to preserve the gasket, thats if you havent got a replacement handy, then you may be able to get some mole grips on whats left of the screw. if not you'll need to get an easy out on the screw shank .
am i the only who who just un does the bottom rad pipe from the rad puts my hand over the hole on that day and puts my mouth on the filler cap and blow throw
