Well it's that time of year dark wet and time to build up the brownie points , so the bike marshaling finished and the bikes put away in the garage and they have hardly been out for the last two months ,now I never drain the bikes out over the winter as I always think that you can get some nice days in the winter and if you had to start messing about getting the bike ready for a ride you just would not bother so all I do is start them up every second or third week let them warm through shake the petrol about a bit to keep it mixed up , any way today was one of them start the bikes days and the little DT was closest to the door and temptation got the better of me on went the helmet and gloves just in jeans and padded jacket I will be a good boy and just have a steady ride round the block MMMMM then was just pottering along doing about 40 mph in about 3rd gear wound the throttle that little bit more and well you know dont you it started to sing OH such a sweet sweet song and what is a red blooded SILLY OLD FOOL TO DO ????? go boy go twist that right hand it was not you it was that Bl--dy power band that made me do it honest ,that song screaming in my ears , Where oh Where have I been all these years why didnt some one tell me about these DT songster's , to think I waited all these years without a DT to sing like that to me ,

You could say that Nathy old boy but there is a moral to this if you think about it , how many on here cant wait to get rid of them plates all I can say is when you do lads hang on to them DT's they are such FFFFFFFFFUN I have riden big bikes for years and had lost sight of the fun to be had on the little bikes , I used to jump on the big bike and trot of to where ever and yes big milage no probs but it was so clinical you set off you got there and you came back it was a to b but you jump on the little stinker and with in ten mins of saying you were going to be a good boy the front wheel was going light the adrenalin was flowing and and and and , you bl--dy well know what I was the yongest 66year old teenager in town good job I wear a full face helmet so no one can see the grin ear to ear ?? be away with you its that far round the back yougould tye a knot in it , silly OLD YONG FOOL so hang on to them DT's belive me them big bikes are good but them DT's ????????
but it is true born again bikers go for a 1200 in old age
old long term bikers go for smaller bikes some even peds .
as for me have owned and riden most bikes over the years but always had a passion for the light small 125 cc range bikes .. easy to fix cheap to run also easy to put away in a shed ect and turn it on the spot ...
think the most fun and abuse I have had has been on small cc bikes such as the cub 90 plaggy and you gota try a yamaha yb 100

I may be only 22 and only ridden a couple of bigger bikes but even now I still got sucked back by the DT125. I may be selling up all the 125 bits now but im sure they'll always be there in my bike riding career! I just hope the DT200WR can live up to it as i plan to keep that for some time!

defo, still miss my DT had a fair few bikes haha, my two faves where the DT and my ZX6!
For me it was just a case of having the bike for the job in hand and as I started ??? years ago long before the little DT came along in my formative years the little stinker of the day was the BSA Bantam now no BSA Bantam I ever rode ,could sing like the DT and I used to go for the big bikes for two up touring with the boss on the back S / France through the Pyrenees to Andorra through the French Alps , Scotland the Isle of Man every year and it just had to be a big bike , and never looked at the little bikes I just bought the bike I wanted for the job and lost the fun factor element , dont get me wrong I have had some fantastic times on the big bikes and still do but Oh boy am I enjoying playing on the little DT , I will hang on to both bikes as long as I can , I am lucky I have a bike to do big mileage on and one to play on , the DT came by good luck not management , I had never given them a thought then this one dropped in to my lap , and what a shock was in store that day one little DT started to SING that sweet sweet song and that was it head over heals in love and at my age ???? not so much as born again more like a return to ones second child hood , how lucky can one man be a product of the sixties rock and roll free love greasy biker for ever then to get another bite of the cherry a second child hood on a DT and a bike that was built to cross continents in the day , shake hands with one happy happy man , just a shame the boss can no longer get on the back of the big baby for them big adventures any more , but no one can take away those memories of the times we had , live life to the full live the dream , if it has a wheel at each end it will do , and dont ever let any one tell you you are too OLD , I have just lost this week a very good friend that was still racing a side car at the age of 75 with his wife on the chair aged 61 doing the TT and as many other races as they could , a inspiration to many and a truly nice bloke a sad loss Robin Daykin of Team Past it
Can't beat a little stroker, was gonna swap the dt in for a bigger 4t, so glad I got this rmx, I miss that mix of sound, smell and that insane burst of power! Front end coming up as it hits the power band never fails to put a grin on my face :D
