I've raced a WR. Although nice looking bikes they lack serious grunt.

My restricted re bested it in bottom and top end. And on rolling starts. The WR is no contender for the beastly DT. It would be like comparing an aprilia rs to the DT in terms of power. The rs hands down.

Sorry but using the DT v RS comparrison is just wrong, the RS might be a tad faster, but they are both fast fun and exciting 2 strokes that leave a big smile on your face. The WR 4 stroke is anything but fast fun or exciting, and leaves a look of embaressment and shame on your face. A BIG DIFFERENCE!!

I think that is a bit harsh to anyone who's bought one.

But yeah I can agree with you.

It's such a shame really.

But my comparison is purely for speed on the rs vs DT. The rs is faster on bottom and top end than the DT. Much like the WR and the DT. The DT is faster bottom and top.

ive ridden the wr a few times and they arent as slow as everyone makes out, fully derestricted dtr only really pulls away once it hits fourth, up to then the wrs arent far behind. and with my fully restricted dtre, the wr is almost the same speed in a 'drag race' up to about 60 - 70. Also going up and down hills the wr is quite slow compared to a dt, think the wr struggles to do more than 70 up a hill and 77 down

theres something not right there then, the dt shud be takin off in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th.. then yal not get much more after that. dts all about accellaration not top end.. dont know if its ya sprockets set up but mine gets to 60 quick as ****, then theres not much more after that. but id prefer that coz you can overtake nice and quick. also be away at the lights before anyones even got there handbrake off ha

im not saying my dt is very slow (not really quick either lol) but the wr is definately not as slow as everyone says, was out with carlosrexx and his dt fully derestricted didnt pull away much faster until he got to fourth gear then he was gone! haha

will have to get a video when i next go out, my mates wr sounds the bollocks tho, sounds like a 250!

If it's anything like the XT 125 it will be pretty awful, my mate use to have one could barely get to 65 / 70 and even then it took ages compared to DT. Big lad though probably 14 stone

2 strokes forevvaaaarrrr (small cc anyway)

No way. My DTRE Smashed a WR when I raced. Bottom and top end.

On a dual carrigeway it should get to some sort of top end

Bearing in mind my DT will smash a Yamaha R125 on top end.

Hahaha, I almost had to stop and wait for you ;) I rode his mates WR and although it lacks the power when you pin it, it sounds good with an aftermarket pipe and will happily roll along at 60 :)

My DT manages to pull me around no problem, and i'm 22stone

0-60 about 3/4 seconds depending on the start, usually trying not to fall over the front of the handlebars preventing a wheelie.

pulls straight up to 65 then starts running out of gearing at 75. Have had 86mph downhill through a tunnel (mate next to me on his SV650 keeping pace)

But yeah my mates RS125 still canes me haha

Although they are pretty slow, they do handle A LOT better than the dt, just so much nicer to ride. Ridden both bikes quite a bit, always found the wr to be more planted and could turn more sharply. When I've been riding off road there's never been too much difference between the two bikes tbh.
