You won't need rear pegs on a DT as it's all one seat. It's only if 1. the seats are split into two parts clearly indicating a pillion can be used and 2. the mot tester is a bit of a jobsworth especially on bikes with L plates...
Just chucking it out there because it's been brought to my attention by not a jobs worth but a sound guy who stopped me from selling on my pegs because of jobsworths ,he was the one who told me about the single seat loophole to help me out ,so anyway lol those d@ckheads are out there and u can easily find one in front of u on test day ,kind regards gadget
Full license with no L plates, can carry a pillion and use motorways up to a 125 @ 17
Upgrade up to 395cc @ 19
Upgrade to a 600 @ 24
I could be wrong with the age thing but it goes something like that. Not too sure if you can skip some because of your age I think you can but if you want to get the highest CC as early as possible it does stuff you over a tad
No one really knows until it actually comes in and people start doing their tests, back in November I was asking both the bike school and the DAS examiners and they all had completely different ideas of how the test would be it was ridiculous.
Yeah that's about right Harry, makes it even worse that it isn't an automatic step up to higher Bhp but you have to sit 3 different tests throughout the years where as with the current licence it just automatically de restricts you after 2 years.
So I hope to hell I get it done before the law change lol. Good news is I managed to get a new big legal plate made with that green slip you get given to prove your new owner ( cheers reef ) and got some bolt on wing mirrors hoping I have enough handle bar left to fit them lol.
Yeah if your 19 you can do a test to ride some thing with the maximum engine capacity of 48bhp, so if your 19 then this new law is better than the old one cause you'd of only be able to ride something with 33bhp. but then i guess you gotta do the next test to ride anything so it costs more money and hassle lol.
this is the reall kick there makes it all confusing.
to do the 48bhp/400 test w/e one it is at 19 you need 2 years experience(might mean u have to have the 125 full licence for 2 years im not sure) outherwise you have to wait till your 21 but if you pass your 48/400 test at 19 you have to wait 2 years again to take the full full licence so at 21 you can take that test but you must have had the 48/400 licence for 2 years lol
I'm more than happy with a DT for a long time, just the amount of tests you have to keep doing isn't fair. Look at the car test... one theory one practical and that's it for any power and any capacity for life.
Yeah I plan to keep the dt with out a doubt, would also like something better for long higher speed road trip kinda rides, wanna do a nut n bolt rebuild on it to!
