So i ordered this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310513954925?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Which arrived this morning, but, they have sent me a 55t rear sprocket, now im pretty sure it should be 57t, can some one please confirm this?

Front is 16t and the chain has 134 links which i believe to be correct.

Thanks

Yeah for the re it's 57. I doubt you'll notice much of a difference.

It's went on the calculator. Before it was 66 mph now it'll do 68. It's a 2 mile an hour difference.

Mine is a DTR. I would have thought it would make a significant difference?

It does if you drop two on the front. Make a huge difference. But on the rear it doesn't. It's quite good. You get to the area of speed/acceleration you want from your bike using the frot sprocket. Then fine tune it using the rear.

I've got rs wheels on my bike. The rs rear sprocket is 40 tooth. That's a drop of 17 teeth. Lost like 18% torque. I've managed to find a small 520 sprocket for my bike. Now I've got 14 teeth on the front 520. And 46 teeth on the rear 520. It's a 1% torque gain.

hmm so i will lose a bit of acceleration to gain approx 2 mph top speed?? I think i would rather lose 2mph to gain quicker acceleration.. :/

And wouldn't less teeth mean i need a shorter chain?

Ok. Any idea why Yamaha changed from 55 to 57?

The re's and x's are the most restrictive.

It's probably to do with that. They're restricted so they've given it better acceleration to compensate.

As far as im aware 57t is standard for DTRs fromm 88 onwards? And LCs were 55t?

I could be wrong though, lol

if u drop a tooth on the front its the same as adding 2 to the rear so droping 2 on the rear is like runing a 17 front should just drop the front to a 15 and youll be same radtio and u do feel it

Not at all toy.

I've got rs wheels on my bike. I've got 14 teeth on the front and 46 teeth on the rear an it does about the same top end. Better acceleration.

Either way for me DTs are more about acceleration rather then top speed so im sending it back for a 57.

Thanks for your input lads.
