pro-x piston and possible damage?

took barrel off today on other engine- suprised to find a 0.50 oversize pro-x piston. Anyone have any experience of these? gonna upload some pics as there are some scores down piston not deep ones and very slight marking in barrel. was going to for a rebore hence taking barrel off- but may get away with hone instead of rebore??? hopefully.

rings all intact not port damage at all looking at pics just some odd marks...thoughts please? was also covered in lot of carbon too -so was prob running rich?

Currently at engineers now gettin 2 barrels rebored and 1 jap piston kit and head gasket and the other is having Taiwan piston kit. Not bad for £124. Even doing it while I wait!

well after waiting an hour, got 2 barrels bored out to 1mm- 1 jap piston kit(tzr stylee) and the other matika piston kit. Qualtiy service from Grampian Motors- just turn up and they sort- had everything you could possibly need for engine rebuilds.

only thing they didnt do was the powervalve mod- and he did advise me that it will need doing on both barrels..any good quality tips to do it please? he advised to mark off with pen and take file and follow the contour but take no more off than needed??? some instructions with piston kit to follow but if anyone got some other tips be great?

Have the ports been chamfed?

Can't tell from the photo.

I don't like the idea of boring the YPVS.

Personally I'd prefer to have the barrel replated.

dont look like much chamfer on the ports tho, should be a nice 45 degree angle on the edge of all the ports especially the top of the exhaust port with its size across the bore

id be fettling them

So I can use a small precision file to just increase the chamfer? Do I lube with oil whilst working? Will attempt by hand and do power valve mOd as well. Any tips?

just lock the powervalve safes all the work and it makes the dt a bit quicker than useing a servo

It might just be the pic ? But it looks like a small amount been chamfered so maybe wet n dry it around with real fine grit ,u won't damage the bore coz it will have the rough honed surface anyway and it's cheap to do
