plug failure in the snow not good
right iv been using cr 250 spark plugs br8eix or br9eg ,but recently my plug failed an iv bought a pile of br9es being an idioit forgetting the atheana kit iv gone an got the standard dtr plugs . had it in 3 days an killed it its a nice tan in burn colour its the 2nd one thats failed now . so iv gone back to the br8eix iridium which works.
but does anybody know what plugs supposed to be used?
i just took a shot in the dark an as the pistons 65mm an the cr250 pistons are 65mm iv just gone with the plugs youd use in one of them.

cheers m8 yeah i though so . so iv got the right ones in there
still the bikes being a div wrecking them after a run or two aswell
only mainly seems to have trouble fouling plugs in the ice an snow an extreme rain tho any suggestions the plugs arnt any sort of off colour just nice tanned brown so that says nothings wrong as far as my knowledge goes ?
Got a hole in the exhaust? Is the exhuast not sealing properly? Is there anywhere around the inlet manifold rubber/ reed block or carb thats not sealing properly? Do the revs rise on their own?
It seems odd that the weather seems to be having an affect. Two strokes will ride differently in different conditions but fauling plugs seems a big extreme. Take the plug out and check it against the haynes manuals guide to see what the problem is exactly.
You could also try making small adjustments on the carb settings.
hello m8 no the revs all sit fine double checked on the manifold seals there all good an tight , been tinkering with the air mixture up an down but still she ill
strange old problem im just guessing its the cold whether i did think firstly about the mixture with the cold but that still did'nt solve it gone through so many plugs now its getting costly
cleaned the air filter
next port of call is replace the ignition coil im just waiting on a replacement now,
may pull the exhaust in the morning an check the piston rings out
if all else fails i need a rear brake caliper an an mot is in order on the other one well i strip an rebuild this old girl.
what do you think to a siezed bottom piston ring causing this then iv just found it now with the top end off in the kitchen would this be the reason my plugs keep failing piston walls were also soaked in 2 t

i havnt mate i unstuck the bottom ring in minuites as it was just stuck in there a bit then i ran it again an still conked out, at the top of town too every time. so still its not right then iv removed the 170 an put the 125 lump back on but same again so it cant be the head or pistons as iv tried two sets now an its still failing . cant figure it out on the upside at least i know the athena block still ok.. gotta be an issue somewhere else.
nice one for that m8 so by the looks of that pic any minor damage is a bad thing then.
I cant even check them out now either until i give a taxi driver another 15 quid to get back to my dt ,Nightmares, not been a good snowey season at all . what makes it worse is the bikes insane fun in the snow but i cant use the damn thing, even if i mot the other one that still pops a lightbulb every journey an needs a rear brake cylinder.
