defo head gasket, theres a leak between the water jacket and oil ways, i would stop running it immediatly, coz now you got ****ed up oil n water goin through the engine and it WILL cause damage to the most expensive components ie crank and camshaft, then cylinder head (cam journals) possibly mains journals aswell if its left too long,
am qualified tech but got out the motor trade its bull**** money for the work u put in.. and it killed my love of working on cars n bikes

Friend has an 05 golf gti...under the oil filler cap is ALOT of very very thick white goo/mayonnaise looking stuff. I hear this thing about condensation in cold weather etc but coolant seems to be disappearing... It totally ran out the other day so he used water to re fill. It seems to have dropped the level since. I said I'll have a look for him - started the engine from cold and told him to rev a bit as I thought it could be head gasket or water pump failure. When he reved there was action in the coolant bottle. Not sure if it was air going in or just coolant splashing back in. But my thought was that the coolant won't run till a certain temp and fan is going etc. and surely is in no way connected to the accelerator Lool but I don't like to make assumptions! Thoughts on this...?
That mayo stuff is called smeg as mechanics call it, sounds like it's blown a head gasket is there any white smoke poofing out the back end of it?? If so waters getting in somewhere, the action you sore in the expansion bottle could be air in the system causing it to bubble or it's overheating and causing the water to boil

Let the car warm up to temperature first to make sure it's not moisture deffo does sound like a head gasket tho!! Also keep an eye out for abnormal temperatures

If you're lucky it will just be a head skim + new gasket. Like said you really shouldn't run it the second you see the mayo
Brad if you work on a specialist make / model and get well known in the scene there's a lot of money to be made if you work independently especially when you have the reputation that everyone wants work doing by you. Working for a big garage as a worker is difficult though know exactly what you mean.
Head gasket probably. My car had that last time I filled the oil. I removed it all with my finger and a cloth and carried on as normal, obviously checking oil and coolant often. Seems to be ok. Could have just been some moisture got in somewhere where it sat and didnt run for a while.
If your coolant is dissapearing fast then its probably head gasket.
