take the carb off and check what jets you have, you need about a 240, have you also checked your idle screw isnt all the way up so its idling high??

A faster idle can be caused by a lean pilot curcuit but there is other things it could be check all of the above. What mods have been done? What spark plug u running?air box mods? Did u remove the carb or inlets recently? Somthing is not right

1:Make sure ur tank filters not blocked aswel, yknow the little gauze things in the tank , gotta be fuel starvation or air leak, 2:get it started and spray wd40 or something flammable all around the intake tract and if it goes nuts you have found ur leak, 3:check the petrol cap is not blocked as this will cause less fuel to get throo, could be a creased fuel pipe also, 4: if all that fails take off the flywheel and check your woodruff key isn't on it's way out as timing can cause this also, hope this helps dude and don't give up it'll be worth it in the end

You've got to make sure that there is no gasket left on the cylinder when you put fresh ones on. Otherwise it defeats the purpose.

PERSONALLY!

I'd INVEST £15 pounds into a new head gasket.

I WOULD NOT RUN THE BIKE ANY MORE!

If there is a problem with how it's built then you are just going to cause more damage and you won't be able to sell it for anything!!!!

In its current state it won't be worth much,.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP!

Get the cylinder off. Check its ok. Get some photos up.

Get a sheet of glass. Selotape some wet and dry to it. Water the wet and dry and gently rub the cylinder in a circular motion over the wet and dry to remove any gasket on the cylinder and to remove any imperfections.

Are you sure the head wasn't warped?

If it is do the same thing to the top of the barrel and the head. You'll need to take the studs out obviously.

You've got to be paitent.

If you buy a four stroke who's to say that won't go wrong. And they are a lot harder to work on than a two stroke.

DI d you torque the head and barrel downbwhen you reassembled or just as guessed? That was my initial fear so I went on scrounge for stag a torque wrench and feel little better kniwing they tightened to correct level

To be fair mate Dyslexia has got nothing to do with reading a torque wrench. They are professional equipment designed for the profession. I don't know how to read one. I've just set it to what I think it should be and have had a go. I haven't had anyone show me yet.

It is disheartening mate but the fact of the matter still stands. With a non running dt regardless of its condition it WILL struggle to reach that high benchmark of £1200. It would be even worse to sell it for that much since if it were running it wold be worth more.

For that sort of money you could get a nice four stroke or you could end up with something worse than you've got here. That would be the real shame!

That's a sound thing to do.

Is it a necessary form of transport mate. I.e. you can't live without it.

If I were you I'd leave it sometime to get your head round it.

I wouldn't bother starting it again. If there's a problem with it then starting it up again is just going to exacerbate things.

usually costs me about £100 for rebore, piston kit and small end bearing, head gasket is about £13, put some pictures up from up the exhaust port so everyone can look at the damage, should be able to tell what caused it exactly

its an air leak mate the damage was caused as when the air leaks it makes it run lean so it heat seizes
