At the end of the day it's their word against mine. Whos to say I did take those stickers off? Or take out the tag because before it had a clip lock but I wanted a fastener. They haven't got anything to go by unless they contact the manufacturer themselves and if they have the model number. Which they won't

Police wont stop you and ask to look at your helmet unless there is something wrong with it. Say you're missing half of it. The only possible and i say possible issue is if you crash and Insurance want to see your helmet. But they'd only do that if you claimed for your gear cover. What you're wearing has nothing to do with the crash.

Since we live in a country that has a National Health Service it doesn't matter about hospital bills!

ive always thought road lids were designed to be able to roll and slide around if u crashed so they dont take damage in just one spot, i wouldnt fancy an mx helmet at high speeds anyway id be worried the front would cave in or something lol

i doubt police would check over your helmet anyway, not unless theres something obviously wrong with it but you never know!

But if you had brain damage and your family wanted to claim compo and the nice man from ripoff insurance to look after you cos it was some wa-ker in a car that pulled out on you (didn't see you mate ) and it got to court the nice man in funny wig would say that you contributed to your injuries by not wearing an approved helmet so as a consequence your entitlement is reduced by ex % in stead of £1.000.000 you can only have £20 , sorry if I am painting a picture you don't like but it is the way things are in today's sue and be damned society ,on the bright side I think you will find that the Shoei VFX-W helmet is sold in uk for £480 so should come with uk EU stamps I am waiting for a Email from a supplier to confirm that and if they do it in the plain white , the ones they show are with graphics that don't look as nice imo will post their reply when it comes , the revue that you see on Youtube is Usa and over there the DOT mark is like our EU UK marks so cant see that it will not have them so get saving them penny's Reffy Boy £480 ????? too rich for me but do like it a lot

thanks matey, I appreciate it :) However not really fond of them designs, gonna pay the extra bit and get the all white one but thanks, cheapest I've found so far is £330 which I don't mind paying

Another thing to remember Reefy, although it's not law yet!! it is recommended that you change helmets every 4-5 years, due to the polycarbonates in the helmet becoming brittle, fair bit to pay out that is.

Thanks for that nev, actually didn't know that :)

I'm happy to pay that for a helmet, like you say it should last (touch wood) between 4-5 years and therefore £300 seems reasonable
