****ing hell you rode 6 miles in first gear?!?! Our DT engines deserve a medal lol. It makes me cringe riding in first gear for any more than 10 seconds, let alone 6 miles!

eg logiik i noticed u live not too far from me n super steve, u heard of sundon pits?? near luton absolutly awesome place!

n eze somthing similer happend to me ages ago wen i first met my missis, was on my old beaten up cg 125 looked like somthing outta madmax lol , i went to meet her near her school at the time she was with a load of her m8s who id never met, they wer sittin on the common  jus chillin n i thought id show off a bit pull a dirty big slide as i pull up.. was goin great got a bit of speed up as i pulled off the road then got ma slide on.  at this point there all lookin at me  then the ****er caught grip as i slowed down n jus sorta high sided n i was jus there on my arse n bike on its side.. right next to the missis n her m8s, i layed there for about 3 seconds jus thinkin W..T..F..  i jus wanted the ground to swallow me up, was so embaressed my missis n her m8s wer slient jus staring at me wen i looked up at them. was ****ing bad lol  ,then to top it all off as i rode off i couldnt change up from 1st, so me bootin it in first mashin up the grass went to change up but the gear lever jus didnt move clutch back out engine revs its tits off again then it hit me that it ****ed the selector wen i failed hard earlyer on wen i pulled up lol jus didnt look back coz they thought i was a retard by this point lool , got round the corner to inspect out of sight, managed to pull up on the gear lever really ****in hard by hand to select higher gears jammed it in 3rd then rode home like 15 20 miles running along with the bike to help it pull away at lights lol. fcuktarded day that was.. lol

your 2nd photo reminded me of a man in a vest holding a spliff trying to sell me a dt125. he told me " This is one of the ****ing rare models mate, its got the early engine numbers 1n23456, its worth a ****ing mint mate id guess about 4 grand if it has an mot ticket"

He also told me he used a walkers crisp box to make a head gasket.

I declined the purchase!

Can you ride at canada heights? do they do practise days etc? now ive got the yz im gonna be going around loads of places.

shows the need to always carry a pair of what I call monkeygrips/pliers ? or some sort adjustable of clamp that can tighten on to anything ...to at least get it in to second gear

Cheers for that mate. Will probably do that and get the membership. Looking at going to Golding Barns, Chruchills, Dunstable, one in crawley/ east grinstead and also a friend is going across to one in lewis on saturday. I went and saw british championsips as a kid at canada heights. Sounds silly maybe but would feel like a boss if i got to ride around it. Was my first and only motocross event and i was in total awe! haha!

Maybe we'll get a group together then. My friend is now going to churchill / mill lane track on saturday instead. I'm going to strip and clean and set up the yz carb in the week and hopefully go for a ride next sunday. If anyone is intereste to meet, pm me and ill tell you where we'll be.

Back to topic, how much hassle is it going to be to fix that then? is the shaft damaged or is all the damage to the lever?
