Couriers?

I trusted this company with my DT when I got it sent up to bradderscost me £85

: http://www.southcoastbiketransport.co.uk/About-Us.html , Communication, service, price everything was spot on, and the cheapest quote I could find, I'm sure they'd transport a SM setup if you contacted them asking.

Found them through shiply.com, and through them they have delivered a lot of bikes, 400+ positive feedback, seems no one has been unhappy with the service

But otherwise, register and post on shiply.com,see the quotes you get back and just check there feedback obviously

Myhermes are cheap but they are bloody awful, takes ages to come then they are delivered by random people with their own cars. One woman drove her 4x4 into my drive tried to do a 3 point turn and destroyed the wall.

Also had stuff shoved in my letter box by them, because they can't be arsed to put a card in luckily nothing I've bought had been too damaged by them.

Sent 500+ items by city link in the last few years only ever had 2 issues which were both sorted in a a few days 'items went missing'

Other than that they pretty much deliver next day (weekdays only)

But I'm speaking from a business view where I need to get items to buyers as quick and as reliable as possible, yes myhermes is cheaper but are all over the place when it comes to timing. Sorry but 'deliver within 5 days' just isn't acceptable when dealing with customers. If it takes 2 days dispatch and goes over the weekend then you can easily expect well over a week to 10 days for it to arrive.

I would use parcel monkey, generally cheaper than parcel2go but again if it weighs a lot then another courier may be able to offer it cheaper. Parcel2go tend to deal with a wider variety.

Sorry for the mini rant, got to remember couriers will treat items like complete crap so literally wrap it like you expecting it to get smashed up otherwise it will be guaranteed to get damaged.

I`ve just had a parcel delivered via city link only last week via e-bay. I was in the back at the time didn`t hear the my door bell the courier did leave a note but threw the parcel over my back fence which landed on my concrete paving slabs it was only a 2 bottles of 2T oil but the delivery driver didn`t know what was in the box so if it was a fragile item it could of quite easily of been damaged to me all couriers can be careless it just depends on the person you get that day. When you book up with myhermes your items are insured properly for the amount of the value you state your item is worth up to the value of £200. So how can you say they are not insured properly Stillbroke ? And just to clarify one last thing the couriers do use their own transport (Cars mainly) my courier who is a lady is the same person who collects my items all the while I have sent 50 parcels out this month without any issues. The people who work for my hermes are designated the same rounds just the same as most other companies they just use there own vehicles which is no great shakes to me my main concern is that my item will arrive safely and will be insured

I will do so are you saying that myhermes are  not giving insurance then as from what your suggesting is that myhermes are committing fraud with false information on their website? As they are offering insurance coverage

Myhermes courier is collecting again tommorow I will ask her about trainning and let you know what she says Harry. But to be honest I don`t see what trainning any delivery driver really needs to collect and item from A and to Drop off to B its hardly rocket science or defusing a bomb is it lol

They probably are insured to a degree

But where as other couriers will be fully trained, in full time employment and know what they are doing by the sounds of it myhermes just use anyone who wants a few extra in their pocket. Bit like delivering pizzas for the local take away and just using your own car.

Probably only get told the basics then push them on their way.

No not really the majority of it is common sense. I think the main issue is them probably being freelanced so not really caring about their job. Nothing worst then someone treating your parcel like crap because it doesn't affect them.

Ive used myhermes many times. Spot on everytime. The bloke ive got is excellent. Have a good chat. No problems with items. If its well wrapped then you can launch it as much as you like.

So long as ace venturer doesnt turn up you'll be alright IMO
