anyone else on here hate yamaha for using the bolts they use?

 

 

almost every single yamaha bolt i come across, gets rounded or snaps

 

i think its a must to go round with allen bolts disbelief

indeed m8 every rebuild iv done on dt's iv had a handfull of bolts thts snapped... absolute ****e.

Best off investing into some stainless steel kits. Ive changed nearly every bolt in my bike for ss

alot go on rear section of the frame aswell, as they get all the **** thrown at them, would be ok if all the bolts wer lashed in copper grease.. y the **** they bolt them up dry i do not know. no

way head of ya..


already started going over it all with a stainless supply.


today found a few security stubbed star bit bolts on the carb and on the reedblock and inlet part. annoying is to say the least.

cant understand why they do it, no one is going to steal your reeds!

Annoying but they do it deliberately to keep costs down. The DT would start at something stupid like £5k if they used quality parts everywhere. It only bothers enthusiasts like us.

I got the star ones off by using a hacksaw and cutting slots in them. Tonight I am measuring all my engine bolts and replacing every star head for Allen. There isn't an original crappy screw head left on my bike.
