Im getting cracked on with this DTR now that im feeling a bit better after my heart bypass op. Im doing a 1981 DT175MX at the same time that's also long overdue finishing off. The swinging arm rear shock and linkage are off for refurb on the DTR. Just need a few more hours on it and it will be ready for an MOT and some pictures.

Im going to Satin Black the bottom of the side panels for the 1978 DT125MX that's an ornament in the back of my living room today. I should have done it 18 months ago.
Its Yamaha Clean White, decals are lacquered over for protection

Your wifey doesn't mind you having bikes in the house? lol
No she doesn't mind, I only have one bike in the living room but you could eat your dinner off it. It has no oil or petrol in it at all, just in the forks so it dont smell or anything just looks good.
Does look the part i do have a thing for dt's that are like they are when they came out the factory but i also love them when there modded to ken

I have all the brand new plastics and decals to restore it to original, you bought yours off ebay before I could get it, if I got it it would look like that picture
Dam she would look hot, and yeh i have most of the things to make her back to the way i got it (besides the exhaust wheels and forks) maybe one day she will be back to normal

It's actually the reason why mine hasn't been tarted up. I use it as a daily commuter and it would just seem pointless to make it look mint only to mess it up.
Im doing my test this year and getting a wr426 or an er500 or both and putting the dt away

How long does it take for the logbook to come with them? You bought them both as field bikes without the V5, didn't you? How much do DVLA charge to get a logbook?
It costs a fiver for each bike to get the reg number from the frame number and im pretty sure they get the reg as soon as they do the check. Im sure someone on here did it for free for someone cause they offered to do it for me but I had already done it. After you get the reg number its 25 quid each bike to get the logbooks from DVLA and it usually take 4 to 6 weeks for them to send them out.
The one ive just finished hadnt been used as a field bike, it had just been unused for so long the documents had been lost. The one I am starting on had been turned into a field bike.
looks great scrin as always ..realy should crack on with mine or at least get the red seat coverd just to damn lazy these days maybe when the sun stays out for longer than 30 mins I will have a good crack at it poor thing just sits there gathering dust for around 13 years now lol .
have a feeling I will post this same comment in another 13 years lol.
