Im getting cracked on with this DTR now that im feeling a bit better after my heart bypass op. Im doing a 1981 DT175MX at the same time that's also long overdue finishing off. The swinging arm rear shock and linkage are off for refurb on the DTR. Just need a few more hours on it and it will be ready for an MOT and some pictures.

Im going to Satin Black the bottom of the side panels for the 1978 DT125MX that's an ornament in the back of my living room today. I should have done it 18 months ago.

Its Yamaha Clean White, decals are lacquered over for protection

No she doesn't mind, I only have one bike in the living room but you could eat your dinner off it. It has no oil or petrol in it at all, just in the forks so it dont smell or anything just looks good.

If I had yours Danny it would look like this

I have all the brand new plastics and decals to restore it to original, you bought yours off ebay before I could get it, if I got it it would look like that picture

Looks awesome Scrin. Must be worth a small fortune.

Yeah but when you're doing burnouts and holigan riding I wouldn't bother making it look the dogs business.

It's actually the reason why mine hasn't been tarted up. I use it as a daily commuter and it would just seem pointless to make it look mint only to mess it up.

You have to be 24 to do your big bike test. You can only ride <=400cc now :(

Go for something quick like a rd350 YPVS :)

You'll soon change your mind on two bikes and packing the DT away when it comes to purchasing a new bike or two. :( A lot of £.

Also looks nice that Scrim. Got a weak spot for the white & red ones. biggrin

Didn't you have another one identical to this? The one with the kink in the chain?

How long does it take for the logbook to come with them? You bought them both as field bikes without the V5, didn't you? How much do DVLA charge to get a logbook?

It costs a fiver for each bike to get the reg number from the frame number and im pretty sure they get the reg as soon as they do the check. Im sure someone on here did it for free for someone cause they offered to do it for me but I had already done it. After you get the reg number its 25 quid each bike to get the logbooks from DVLA and it usually take 4 to 6 weeks for them to send them out.

The one ive just finished hadnt been used as a field bike, it had just been unused for so long the documents had been lost. The one I am starting on had been turned into a field bike.
