well got to work on it today

the wireing was a bhit messy so cleaned up all wireing and instantly noticed 3 broken wires at the ignition fixed the wires and it came streight to life with a bit of fuel down plug hole and 1 kick it started ....

I instantly shut it down as not checked out all the engine yet and alwats like to oil change clean carbs and check everythings working as it should and is tight bolted prior to letting the engine run ......

will update with more pics and info as I go ...... I may well nick the wheels for my dtr but not 100% yet . not a bad little bike for £350

yeah not sure my dtr wheels would look good on the tz lol ..

duno will maybe try swap em over in week see how I feel about how they look and the tzr is getting sold again at some point so even if I did steal the weels I am sure I could get back what I paid nad maybe make a little profit also now its running and after a clean and spruce up maybe paint job ........

no real plans for the tzr as of yet I just bought it for something to tinker with and it was in pushing distance and cheap

 true .........

I always work like this if I need parts or even a full sett of plastics I will buy a full bike at a good price knowing I could resell it fast for the same money even if I knick or swap parts over ..

and always steal something of every bike I buy be it hand guards-clocks -lights resell with the missing items even sometimes at profit and end up makeing money  and getting some free bits for nothing but a bit of my time .........

in the past have  needed a full engine so bought a full cheap field dtr swapped engines and resold at no loss or cost ....

Thats the way to do it. If you have a way of transporting the bikes and storing them it seems to good to be true when you get all the stuff you need for no cost or actually paid for doing it.

Liking the project btw.

thanx and also in most cases I talk the sellers in to delivering the bikes would even go as far as to say I have a rule if they dont deliver I dont buy . lol

well been working on it again today and althou it do,s start it will only start with the choke all the way out ? any ideas anyone why this is

things I have checked
air screw all way in then 1 1/4 turns out ?
cleaned all carb and no blockages
floats seem ok
just went dark so could not check rubber or reeds for wear or damage ...will do tomorrow

it has a stupid k/n type cone air filter fitted and no airbox maybe this is the problem ?

but overall with choke out it kits 1-2 kicks and runs for a little untill you let choke back in or try to rev . so engine and electrics all seem fine its just all to do with carb now .

If the pilot jet is clear thn it could be fuel tank filter blocked or that stupid one they put in the carb fuel intake, fuel starvation or air leak seems to be

Try spraying wd40 near the flywheel with the cover off, it could be the left hand side crank seal gone, if it races when you spray, you can be pretty much certain it is.

yeah they can cause this but I have no fuel tank on or filter use a small home made tank for testing ...

have to see what shape the rubber joint is in tomorrow and check for any air leaks ..

well still cleaning up a part or bit at a time ..

is only today I removed the -power valve- cover to find that its not there lol what impact will this have? I have never tried running or starting one with out the power valve in place . I asume the bike will not run or start with out it althou it did start at one point and run on full choke for a short while .

also taken of the fly wheel cover all looks and feels .

why would some one remove the power valve then cover and reseal the cover with silicone . cant get my head round the things some people do things to bikes

IMAG0214.JPG

well got it running with out the power valve in place was just a case of makeing sure the pv cover was air tight and sealed and it starts first kick still like a bit of choke but at least I now know the engines a runner ...just gona clean up what I can and bang it back together maybe sell back on as a needs a clean up project for someone .. would say with the pv refitted and a good spray job she would make a ok/good bike . if she was a dt or something I would comit more time effort and money but sadly its a skinny tzr and not realy my fav bike lol
