Woke up at 3am to my bike alarm going off, thought it was a cars vibrations that set it off, but then it happened again 10 seconds later...
went to the garage and saw 3 lads in there with screwdrivers having a mess with my bike!!!!
i was in my boxers so sadly i couldnt chase them and they ran off as soon as they saw me!
luckily they didnt damage my locks, ignition or anything like that, they just broke the bit of plastic surrounding the ignition barrel? god knows why they were trying to get behind there when the bike was still chained up etc..
its a horrible feeling when someone enters your property and tries to steal something you care about, its not the value in £, the bike actually means something to me even if it does piss me off sometimes
just letting you all know, its a horrible feeling when this happens and i would be feeling alot worse if they got away with my bike too! i guess the alarm saved my bikes ass
keep your bikes locked and alarmed up guys and if you hear the alarm going, run outside as fast as you can with the hammer!
take it this was a dtr ? and if so they must have been clueless theifs will not state why as dont want to educate other clueless theifs on how to steal a dt
I know you will now be on edge and getting up for any sound or noise . and tbh honest mate from what I know about bike theifs they will be back . they have now had time to see what locks you have and maybe even notice where the alarm is located on the bike incase they need to rip it out ..
and next time they maybe back with the right tools and bolt cutters ..
so maybe tike this time to update or ad some more security lights-cctv - ground anchors - locks ... not sure what you have already and pls dont post on here . but now you know they know about your bike and the word will spread to other chavs as that is in theory £600 to them sat just sitting there .
althou I would have chased them even in my shorts .I respect the fact you did not knowing that these days people get stabbed over something as small as £50 or a phone ect ..
I always think about the what if,s and have a pickax handle in the right place to grab if I have to run out of the house in a hurry and as its part of a gardening tool it covers me if I have to use it as I can always say it was laying on the garden and I picked it up to defend myself [you cant always say this if you use a samuri sword or baseball bat .
you will be shocked if we all realy knew how many theifs enter our gardens with out us knowing and with out taking anything ... try this trick put a line of cotton around the area where your bike is or around your garden and check it each day . I bet it is broken with in a week alerting you some one has been sneaking around
mines currently been moved into my dining room..wife not happy, but no way it sitting in garden covered up..having some work done on my house and getting new 8-6 shed put up shortly but even then it will be alarmed with security light on back of house!!
It is proper crap this side of life ,bl---y scumbags , cant remember but not long ago some one on this site had found a tracker cheap has any one followed that up and got one ?? were they any good ?? I like the idea of the tracker , we had some fitted to the wagons 4 or 5 years ago and it cost so much a month to be registerd with the company that supplied them and did the tracking , the alarm thing is funny thing though unless you hear it your self ?? I once borrowed my sons car and he had just got this alarm fitted and and it had a fob that you passed over this thing stuck to the window with 3 letters and you could set your own code so he sets it for ABA easy ye I know some times you just cant do any thing with your kids ABA ??? so off I goes to Morrison s to do the shopping comes out trolley over loaded as ever , passes the fob over the aba opens the door .ye you have got it off goes the FFFFing alarm for the best part of half a FFFing Hr I was stood there pissing about with that bloo-y car 105db in me lug winding me up did any one come up and say any thing other than people I knew taking the pi -- laughing their heads off NO NO NO not one , no tools in the thing , to get at it , eventual scrounged a screw driver and spanners to bypass the FFFing thing , so if I had been a scumbag , careful a man has feelings that can be heart !! even now through my extra tough skin , Ha Ha needless to say after that I have wondered how good they are ?? must admit I have looked at upgrading some of my locks and adding one of the 95db disc locks to the collection for when I am out and about , down to Lady Luck at the end of the day them scum bags can be a determined lot when they want , my mates 999 Duke was cross over his garage alarm on car taping it in they broke in disarmed the alarm lifted the bike over the bonnet of his car then down the side between the car and the wall only just enough room to get through out and gone his bedroom less than 10 mtrs away window open never heard a thing bike never seen again , they were pro's knew just what they wanted and how to get it , that alarm was top of the range dealer fitted ,
****ín' ell! Give us a bell Tom we can do night watch together i'm only down the road from you lol! God that's well bad, where abouts do you live again??? Usually not too bad around our end for that crap mate...
So glad you kept the bike. Loads of us have not been so lucky. My method is two disc locks plus a ground anchord heavy chain. Soon investing in a cyclone alarm. I really think two disc locks are a good idea.
Oh right Tom fair play yeah Hanley can be a wee bit rough at times i know what you mean lol, so many chavs/pikeys/inbreds roaming the place at all times :(
You live around the bus station area i'm guessing?
you guessed right there mate lol, moving bike anyway now, so should be alot safer :) ... was £7 to replace the damaged plastic bit they did... so im pretty lucky really, they could of got alot more violent towards my bike
