The sidelight comes on without the engine on, on the 89 White bike, when the key is turned to the left on the ignition, but not on the Black bike, for some reason.
Yeah man ,you checked out all the wires ?? Or it might not have original ignition barrel ,the newer dtr's don't even have a steering lock or the metal bit on the frame for it
Aye all the wirings good, I rewrapped the loom myself, also there is a mod kicking about in a thread somewhere in here, for being able to have your lights on without the engine running, I think Norfe put it up, not done it myself mind.
