does need done shame few options get it done by norfe if funds allow.

pick up a 120 odd quid engine of ebay or something to get yourself up an running again

pick up a top end an piston

remove engine fill with fuel an flush an flush over an over in to a tray so you can see the debris all clear those magnet like screwdrivers too are always helpful for getting bits out takes ages an patience an some ammount of fuel ,, may work may not its all about luck on that one

I'd look at buying a known good runner engine, then split that one down and work on it at leisure, all bearings and seals will more than likely be buggered and need replacing looking at all that shrapnel in there.

Severe case of piston slap, i bet its still on standard bore. If u can clean it all out and there is no up down play on the rod u might get away with just a topend rebuild. All that crap wont get near the crank seals.

Only slide the bolt out enough to get the lump out or it's more awkward smile

WOW that is ****ed lol!The main bearings will be grinding that stuff up nicely. If money is really tight, flush it and put a new piston and rebore and see how it goes. Only losing a piston and a rebore when goes bang again. Cant see much more damage being done on that engine that hasnt already happened.

Hmmm. I wouldn't recommend that. More than likely it would go bang. It will only cost you in the long run.

Definatley needs full rebuild lol. The bearings will be screwed with all that crap in them. My big end was full of it to. The alumium had even made it between my main bearings and the crankcase.

Strongly recommend you sort it out properly mate. Otherwise you'll absolutely ruin the bore!

No. Who's to say that isn't shagged. Let alone you have to make sure it is compatible with your bike.

Magnet screwdrivers don't work on Ali aww lolololol hehe but year if you try the cheap way it might have 1 or 2 pieces left in there and kill the new top end imediatly without you even gettin to ride it and It could easily do more damage and kill the lump for good,......some good suggestions above but DO NOT pay 350 for a second hand lump as you could have yours brand new for less than that .....I think a mix of the above suggestions could do you well. 1 :buy a sheet lump for like £100-120 it's only gotta last till yours is done ,and it keeps you on the road, then you can sell it on to get your money back. 2: send yours to Norfe for full rebuild mmmmm new.  3: fit your lump when done and make sure you run it in fullY. 4: open it up for the first time after run-in and grin like the cat who got the cream
