I love it on my dt. When I'm in race mode. Making sure the bike is in the powerband as I exit a corner. Listening to that engine scream. Best bit is know that two strokes need to be ragged. It's part of their life. Ahh great fun.

If u like 4 banger off road bikes but love 2 strokes try a 300 KTM Husky or Berg the 300,s pull from low down all the way and will lug like a 4 banger all day long. I call em 3 strokes there sort of in-between if u know what I mean.

Apart from on the 300's haha gotta tame them things a bit : p yeah but toy 2t ain't made for that sort of things well certain ones to an extent but not like 4 bangers

Like said speak to andy. He said when I asked him that he's done big all round trips on his bike and has not had a problem. I did think the same. Bout long distances on two strokes. But andy said his two strokes have been sound on long trips.

Done it, toured the Scottish Highlands thats further probably in a day on a TDR250 sat up in comfort just like a DT riding position. The TDR250 will sit at a ton all day long and take the piss out of anything on the twistys in the corners. Its the only bike I own that I would never sell, the worlds first and best Supermoto.

250 kicks in a lot more aggressive than the 300! Forgot to add the 200 as well haha, as the. 300 is more enduro it's toned down a bit still aggressive but not as snappy, the 250 is a full blown crosser tho and as soon as the band kicks in you can feel it wanting to lift I must of done 20 minutes tops on the 250 before pulling of due to severe arm pump!! Arms had completely locked on to the bars! Haha

KTM XC engine is the best of both worlds MX and Enduro, 250 if like hairy chested cling for dear life power or the 300 if u want low down grunt pulling power

what are the service intervals ie: having to change piston etc ? i suppose its easier than a 4 banger because no valve clearences to worry about ?

I'm gonna throw all my money at the DT, it's in a little state at the moment with **** plastics etc. So I'll save my money and just get the engine overhauled :) with the little bants going around about 2 and 4 strokes, I've rode a CR500 and a DRZ400, the CR made me wetter. ;)
