Coasties friends Bike was stolen in the early hours of this morning if you see this bike on your travels or know any information then let him know please
nope you can live in the best of areas and althou not much crime happens on the street . the theifs may have spotted him in another area and followed at a distance back to where it lives ..
or things like builders working in the area or over looking the garden or house . you can not even trust the post man these days as anyone could have a theif mates to pass information on to
feel gutted for him send him all our love .. and hope for a good outcome ..
you should plaster gumtree for the local areas or other local site.s this can realy lead to recovering a bike .
a paris dakar 650 went missing not so long ago close to me we posted on gumtree and local forums and had loads of sightings that then led to some one seing it being hidden in some bushes it was recoverd in a week with only minor ignition fule cap damage .
So annoying! What am I going to do if mine goes? All that money. All that time. For some scum bag to take it all. I will never understand why they do it. Never.
My mates, 02 reg DT went missing a few weeks ago. It was recovered the next day with the clocks smashed, the headlight/cowl bracket snapped and the ignition snapped. They caused all this damage but the lock and chain was still on it so they could not ride it. They used a childs toy pram to wheel it away, it was found 30 seconds walk from his house a 7.30am by someone walking there dog and the Police had it recovered to storage instead of just knocking on his door and saying your bike is just here. Cost him 60 quid recovery charge to get it back.
i feel we should all rally together at times like these and hunt it down ,as 1 person we are nothing but giving the amount of members here we WOULD find these bikes in a matter of hours
sorry to hear that, good luck in getting it back tell him, Unbelievable.
On this summer meetup we should all go to a town local known to have a few bike thieves and on one of the last nights have the nicest dts (not mine ;) ) parked on the roadside somewhere and a few of us should sit in the back of bradders or someone else s van (thats if someone else bring one), wait for any potential scum to try robbing it and if some come along.... well you know the rest..... we call the police ;) ;) ;) There tell them off lol
That would mean someones bike getting damaged as they steal it in the first place for us to follow them, i say we just jump them with crowbars and ****ing leave them in a ditch
the thieves now know that the person who lives in the house where the bike was stolen from is into bikes and keeps them. they will be back.
i say a good idea would be to leave a cheap/broken bike in view of thieves with just a SMALL chain on there to not put them off too much, then, i would put money on it that the same thief would come back for it who took the dt.
you then set up a camera and keep close watch and as soon as someone gets near the decoy bike, you get ready and as soon as he touches the bike, LEG IT outside, kidnap him and dont release him until he directs you to the stolen dt :)

awful news, hope he finds the scumbags, i will keep my eyes open round here in dorset, im always on ebay aswell so will keep checking as im only 50 miles awayfrom honiton.
Not sure if this is going to work or not, but I've made up a members map that will show stolen bikes and attempted stolen bikes in the UK. Using Black markers for STOLEN, and White ones for an ATTEMPTED STOLEN bike theft, you can add photos, or noticeable features of the bike, put a description of the stolen bike, also any contact details if preferred, Obviously it isn't a good idea to put the exact address of where it was stolen, but a close proximity would probably be a better idea. Whoever enters details of bike, could they notify if it has been recovered, by changing the marker to a Blue 'STOLEN RECOVERED' marker, that way if there is any theft activity in that area, it is still acting as a database for bike thefts. I've started off the map with Coasties friends bike, that was stolen yesterday morning from Honiton East Devon. Anybody with any other ideas that you may think would add to this idea feel free to p.m me and I'll see if it can be implemented into the map. Bradders if you can PM Seiki to make a section for this somewhere within the forum, I'll move it and sticky it there. As I still can't initiate P.M's, only reply to them.
I`ve got the bike image with details circulating around Chard, Yeovil & near the Dorset borderline area with Facebook & people I know round there now lets hope we can re-unite the owner with his new girl
After spending an hour around the area where it was nicked, couldn't see anything but I've put the feelers out and its come back there's a known bike thief around there so fingers crossed it will come to light where it is!!!
