Right decided today that i am going to purchase either a vapor unit for my Dt125r to compliment my Halo Headlight.
Been reading that its fairly easy mod to carryout and means that i can have my headlight sat correctly and less mess behind it hahaha
There are not many posts on here regarding fitment and problems encountered- so what i need to know is about this modified bracket that needs installing/making?? any info please? will the unit be safe from thieving buggers looking to pinch it ??
My Dt is 2000 model with the Reed switch fitted in the clocks, what happens regarding this ? do i just leave the wire alone as before and tucked away or can i do away with? Also do i need the additional box which has the indicator lights etc on it??
Looking forward to buying and fitting so all help would be appreciated. thanks
Not fussed with clock on it or other fancy toys- just want something looking good and serving the purpose- what other models are out there for decent prices?
The trial tech is absolutely lovely. Some real nice features and looks wicked when riding. I LOVE the shift lights that flash when you need to change gear.
Like said Koso do a very nice looking clock. I would have had that one but it was lacking a clock. Since you dont mind about that have a look at what they got to offer.
does fitting the vapor make any difference to the DTR thats fitted with Reed switch restrictor??
not much price difference between vapor and other Koso models..prob go for vapor i think?
Steve i see you didnt bother with the extra case with indicator bulbs etc? you think its worth bothereing?? Also seems your mounting was flush to the frame, did you not think its worth bringing slightly higher in view or is sitting flush a good enough view?
Where it sits now is perfect tbh, theres a little bit more room lower down plus its not sticking out on show.
I didnt bother with the extra case, didnt see the point in it, instead i fitted that green led, when the ignition is on so is the led. When i turn the indicators on the led flashes. I wired it straight to the relay.
I never bothered with the bar fitment. Thought it looked naff. So I made up a bracket using the existing mounting points of the old clocks. Easily done.
