TBH I would find it hard to believe a family run company like AJ Suttons who have built up a good long standing reputation for the 60 years that they have been trading, would even contemplate in trying to pass on counterfit items. Doing something like this would be pure madness & would have a massive impact to company if they was caught. They have no real need to do this kind of thing they are definately make their money as people have been using them for years thats why they have lasted so long so it speaks for itself really. I`m not defending AJ Suttons in any way as they are robbing feckers with their prices lol. But if people are willing to pay their prices who can blame them charging so high for items they sell.
There is one thing I have noticed on the labels of the images of the chinky parts that are not on the Gen Yami labels is written (DT125R) after the part code. That to my knowledge is never on there the reason its not is its simply not needed as the part code aswell as the bar code is already provided on the label already

You're an absolute joke! The amount of times i have given up my free time to help you and your problems. You are well out of line saying that!
You can suck it for all i care I'm not even going to bother helping you from now on.
i appreiciate your help when you have given it i dont appreiciate your opinion though . im not forcing anybody to buy sub-par but we're in a recession and if something is cheap people will buy it .and tbh im not comfortable with paying yamahas prices on things and really its not amazing quality the stuff from china will get better and better and they are growing every second .it wont be long till a better quality control system is introduced over there and we start to get jap quality at chink prices so i im going to buy up while a can . all these companies started out ****e look at hyundai and kia for instance they were slagged and and slagged repeatedly yet last year kia got the WHICH? best car of the year when you consider thats competing with all german manufactures and jap stuff .
you need to open your mind and experience these things first hand instead of immeidiately brushing them to the side as you believe they are **** .we are all enthusiats here so really the bikes arent going to get abused as much as some chavvy who just got his parents to go buy him a dt,so parts like looms, clocks, fairings, covers, rubbers bolts etc etc etc wont be getting the abuse they would from an un experienced owner which we all have been at some point .im still in two minds with the cylinder as really i want to go there and get my mate to translate for me how resistant it is to heat what materials are used etc etc .
The reason why eastern european manufactures have been given awards for their cars is because of the increase in quality control! But it is this that has also led to the increase in price of their products.
I can guarantee you this. You will NEVER get the quality of a decent manufactures (not just jap) for chink prices.
You start changing bits over on your dt and eventually it will show. Low grade casting of aluminium is deadly. If its not good enough quality it can break down once heated up. Sorry what do engines do? Ah ryt yes they heat up! Those cheap low grade engines won't last long.
Things like looms and etc aren't worth paying for either. Copper is expensive as it is. To offer a full look at such. Low price has only got to mean cutting corners. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of green laning and a wire snap. Electrical fault finding is a nightmare so I don't even know why you'd contemplate cutting corners on electrics.
At the end of the day Still you've got stop being naive. Read up on car manufacturing history and it will tell you the same thing over and over again. Cheap cars did exactly what it said on the tin. How many yugo gv's do you see on the road today?
Hmm? The car dates back from 1985. Right i dont think ive ever seen one.
How many vauxhall novas have you seen. Well i've owned two and theres one outside my house.
Speaks for itself.
And FYI yes you did ask for peoples opinion THATS WHAT THIS THREADS ABOUT!
you really are a one man army arent you lol ive already forewarned people that the casting isnt great .but if it can be tested and alls good for £15 then i dont see the problem ,athena for example i think there casting is nasty but people buy it .yes ive had a vauxhall nova to it was a blue 4 door luxe plus,go to prague you will see alot of Yugo's .
on the loom side of things id get the loom check all the wires before hand if it was ****e it wouldnt go on the bike and tbh this same plant is also making parts for other bikes so they cant be all bad otherwise im sure my mate would let me know as hes got quite a few of their bikes as well as a few jap things .
at the end of the day if before these items are put on the bike they are checked etc etc then there isnt a problem . this isnt some guy sitting in a shed with a dremel and a lump of ally it a proper factory and they do have quality control just not like us
it always is and it always seems to be my posts that an argument enthralls im only saying what i think i dont give a **** if im banned and i think thats everyones main concern when a mod is present if im banned il mask my ip and come back change my pic and alls good dont like this power thing callums got going on annnoys me tinks he can spread his word and nobody say anything .****in idiot
Its £10 i would quite happily pay that and check it all over if its s hite i will bin it. If its all good win win....I have enough parts now in my shed to build prob 2 dts so could test it out on them...At the end of the day recession is still on i have kids mortgage etc... and feeling the pinch, but a tenner i can stretch to lol
As long as I can grate it into a toastie and eat it with some pickled onion monster munch I'll take one
Seriously though from experience once you have taken materials, labour and machining costs into consideration I honestly can't see how you can sell the cylinders at £15 without making a complete and total loss. They literally must be made of papier mache or something.
Again for the loom just the cost of the wire and the plugs and putting it together wouldn't see profit on around £10. Like the saying goes if it seem to good to be true, then it probably is.
I'm not trying stir stuff just voicing my concern. If people want to go for it then sure I would be interested in having one to look over even if I weren't to use it.
With certain things like lights / plastics etc then you haven't got too much to be worried about. I would be concerned about mechanical things though as when things break they usually take other parts with them. Like if the cylinder completely fails (it shouldn't, but if it was made poorly without the material being stress or hardness tested) then it will most likely take out the piston, head and possibly force a bottom end rebuild. May seem cheap but in the long run ends up costing you more.
Like I said, just my 2 pence I have bought cheap stuff before and it's lasted me well just got to be careful about what you make sure is genuine quality and what isn't so vital.

see callum this is an opinion and a well constructed one at that,i dont know how they can keep costs that low and it does seem ridiculous but like i said if i get it and its horrific then it will go in the bin .tbh a massive factory like this paying a penny an hour can probably afford it i should imagine the cylinder is mixed metal i hope im wrong .its really comes down to the finished product we will all see .we can only all benefit from this

container from china with loads of metal bike parts all branded as jap parts ... customes love that kind of ****.
I for one am shocked at the looking real stickers on these and wonder how many ****e parts we have already bought via ebay ect tyhat are infact not even gen jam bits ...
I would not waste my piss washing any one of those items knowing they are cheaply made chinese ****e ... you can screem and shout they are made just the same as genuine parts till your blue in the face . but the fact is they may be made from the same patterns or specs but will still fail or fckup like any chinese ****e out there .
example......... 90 cc ****bikes with honda pattern type engines in every way but at the same time nothing like a honda c90 engine .
chinese can and do copy/fake almost anything made from bikes to babymilk and they are all crap and a total false econamy save £50 at the start but will later cost you £200 with the damage a sub standard part can or will do to a engine.....>>> not genuine yamah gaskets do what ? I rest my case
if you choose chinese your basically taking a gamble and you are aware of this because of the cheap price. sometimes you can be well chuffed with what you have.
no need to slate all the chink stuff just because its cheap and the japan stuff is better
the jap stuff is obviously better, but some people like bang for buck, ive bought chinese before and the quality has amazed me, other times the quality has made me sick
it depends on how its made, maybe you could ask about the grade of the metals and how well its all cast and made?
a good example of chinese engines is the pitbike industry, look at there engines, some are crap, some are really reliable, a well maintained yx140 engine will last forever! and the alloy cylinders cost £30 posted.. they look really well made too!
the best thing i think, it to TEST them, and not rely on them 100%
no need for all the banter and arguing i dont think lol

i know the stickers are immense its worrying really whose to say aj suttons isnt doing the same

You are serioulsy pissing me off!
When have i EVER gone 'Listen to me because I'm a mod Else i'll ban you!'
I have never used that as an excuse. I have always said that I have no power. I really don't see where you get this is from! Seiki is the man in charge. Its his forum he is the one that says what the rules are. He just asked me to move threads into the correct location. THAT IS IT! I have never said that i will ban anyone. So where you go this from i have no idea.
Like i said you're n absolute joke. Slating me off on here when ALL i have ever done is been nice to you. Helped you with whatever problems you might have had with your bike OR this forum.
What word am i spreading? Enlighten me? All i am telling you is to not be so naive. You pay for what you get for.
total crap chinese items branded as yamaha with the aim of scamming or cheating some one out of hard earnd cash . ok you openly told us they are fake but if you buy in bulk and sell on ebay ect are you going to make sure all buyers know they are sub standard fake cheaply made items ?
advertising such crap on here realy lowers the tone for this great forum based around a classic bike ... I will be watch for items like this on ebay and clicking that report button like crazy ........

good for you mate i will be selling the parts just like yambits do as PATTERN PARTS not OEM ,and hey you cant say its crap until you have it in your hands you can comment on chinese quality but you cant comment on these parts as neither you nor me have touched them and inspected them ,i dont know if the parts will come to me with stickers on or not either way im not fussed i have no idea why the stickers are on there anyway maybe its easier for them to reference it ,i dont know so much emotion when it comes to the chinese stuff dont understand why .
and no i wont be telling them they are sub standard fake items that would be silly. like i said they are aftermarket, pattern, replica, clone or whatever you want to call them if you have bought products from yambits you have bought sub standard fake items ,we all have unless you intend to always buy genuine then thats my mistake .
there are millions of fakes out there your getting hyped because of a few cheapo bits offered at the price id pay.go down to blackbush market and the other markets and go report all the trainers, shoes, clothing etc etc thats blatantly fake ,next time your on ebay just type in nike air max every time you see a pair of air max under a £100 they are fake and everybody knows it
I would but some parts for sure, you have to remember that china build lots of parts already for jap and german bikes, the bmw f650 gs engine is built by kymco .
