Good for practice though Dan.
If you find yourself one day with a spare 60-80 get yourself a bottom end lump of the bay and strip it and rebuild it best way if you wanna learn more about the DTR. and when you rebuilt it properly drop a head on it got yourself a spare engine then

yeah haveing a old dtr engine to work on can be great fun and as there is no rush with a spare you can get it looking and running awsome like brand new over time and learn loads along the way
yeah common thing on them the clutch and pull starter breaking ..
bought one or two for my kids under £40 as its no loss if plod take em away on fields tbh the last one we had bought it fill can pettrol day on field totalt rapeing it letting all his mates ect have a go till we killed it and I just left it there .. not sure if the other kids take it home or left it lol ...
best bit of advice remove the pull starter and make up a attachment to fit a cordless drill for starting it

Aye and its 2 stroke and the guys have not used any oil with it so it could have a buggerd piston

Sh!ttt and the rest lol, always wanted a monkey bike when i was young, keep this project updated mate, just dont plough loads of money into it buddy if its not worth it, looks alright though :)
argggghhhhhhhhhh you said monkey bike not mini dirt strimmer engine about the only mechanics your gona learn with that is how to fix strimmers and maybe lawn mowers lol ...
this is a monkey bike based around the hondas with real engines
yours is more like the mini/midi dirt bikes not a monkey bike lol
haha yeh well it is tiny and just needs a clutch as the friction material ... well there isnt any lol

This is how I learnt to fix bikes haha do the basics such as top ends and that! Would love another one! Paid a fiver for my one off my mate! Been sat in his garage for 3 years! Alls it needed was a carb clean, and a new inner tube! Had so much fun on it!

We and a mate went halves on one payed 30 pound each so we can both learn basic mechanics on them here is mine was quicker than the ped I borrowed while my dt had its engine rebuilt :)
Oh my they are yeah haha the red one is the same minus the red fork legs! I paid a fiver for the back one and found the red one 2 of them where great little runners! I'm sure I still have an engine somewhere in a kitchen cupboard or under my bed
