Racing Wheels?

Yo,

I've recently just sold my Logitech Driving Force GT Race wheel for use with Gran Turismo and bought a more expensive and better Logitech G27 Wheel.

Was wondering if anyone else has used either or something similar?

G27

Seriously love the Driving force. If you're interested in these but don't want to spend a lot of money I STRONGLY recommend one of these. They're wicked!

The new one I've bought set me back £237.50 Which I don't usually spend that much on gaming. But I couldn't resist.

Full Manual 6 speed transmission, with clutch. LED shifter lights. Flappy panels. Dual motors for force feedback. Seriously can't wait to get it.

But wondering has anyone else tried both. Whats the G27 one like? Worth the money?

That isnt my setup. But the wheel ive just bought cost me £235.

But you dont want to crash a f430 ey?

Nah the one i had before cost me £85 and was amazing. Great fun. Especially when there is a few of you. A few beers and one of those. Great times to be had.

I have the G25. Had it for a while now, just sits under my bed. They get boring extremely quickly. I have double the fun just ragging my bike up the road.

The force feedback, is unrealistic, it's like driving a 1980's banger with no power steering. Get a table for it if you buy it, they suck on normal tables.

Also, I got my G25 for £90, just before the G27 came out, no difference except some fancy LED rev lights and you can't do the up and down racing gearbox on the G27.

Also, most games aren't actually compatible with the G25 or G27, you have to mess about setting up the gears etc.

And only on GT5 is the clutch realistic, though nothing beats driving a real car. :/

Yeah. I already read up all the specs. I don't think you understand how much of a GT5 nut i am lol.

I've had my driving force for about 2 years. I've used it a lot! A LOT MORE THAN I EXPECTED.

I've racked up 40k miles on GT5 lol. Over 900 cars. Done almost every race done and all licenses done on gold. Yeah. I'm not worried about not using cause I know i will.

Still it is interesting to hear that. I did like the idea to sequential shift in the g25. Was actually disappinted they removed it.

I don't own any other racing games than GT5 so i'm not bothered about other games.

But thanks for the info.

Hopefully i will like the g27 and use it just as much if not more.

As the weather improves i use it less and less. But during the winter times when its raining its great fun.

That'd be "mechanical minded." A lot of people have it all categorised, computers and gaming etc = "Nerd / Geek" Good a DIY "Handy man" etc, etc, the list goes on.

People seem to like putting labels on everyone. What does it matter though, we're having fun.
