problem is most of you blokes tell the wife to much .. they are clueless and if you tell her no point in selling it its only worth £20 she will have no idea what its realy worth unless you tell her ...

and if any one says you should sell that so we got some extra money then reply ok as long as we sell something of yours to the same value like your washing machine or your ghd streightners they would soon change their mind

edit... if you dont have a shed you aint got a penis thats a fact every man should have a shed by law

Just trying guage what my spare 3ngine could be worth if i sell..

2000 dt125r..complete. new rebore, new piston and rings and small end.1mm oversize.powervalve modded to fit too.

Engine running fine before removal...also includes complete oil seal kit and main bearings, also conrod, big ends etc. Everything needed if u choose to rebuild it.

Was thinking of rebuilding myself, so that its sat here waiting incase any problems with my engine, but wife moaning its in way under dining table lol..

Any ideas on rough guide price if i put on ebay? May put on here first?

I know my self and some will agree that chances are if you sell it then with in a month you will need it .

would say if your useing a dtr and plan on keeping the bike for a while then you would be crazy to sell a working spare engine .

Trust me nowhere safe!! You obviously are not married! Only possible safe place is attic. dont think she would be happy me up and down through roof,And it's a mare to get too! She would find if left in house tucked away or smell it!!! No room in she'd for storage too!

Yeah that was my thought. Or at lwast what i would try and do.

Have you not got A shed?

if you do go down the outstide route Then try and make it air tight. To reduce moisture and stop corrosion. Otherwise you might aa well sell the engine!

hahaha love the last bit... have a shed but full of kids bikes, lawnmower, tools, patio stuff...really no space to tuck away :p

my wife only knows what i tell her...untill bank statement comes through :p

gonna look at getting smallplastic bin type thing for garden and possbly sort something...or stash in attic- but that would mean rebuilding it first so that i dont have to keep going up there!

only bit that worries me is the gears, and splitting the crankcase otherwise i would have done so already and she would be none the wiser!

I got one of those cheapo plastic greenhouses from Argos, about £30, my stripped down XT125 goes in there nicely.

Depends what area he is from for a cheap plastic greenhouse. If he lives in a place where shed break-ins are often, then probably not the best place.

To OP:

Man up and go to your wife and just bring it in with a smile on your face, and whack it under your bed.

Hahaha love the banter. Obviously most of you are young singletons with no grasp on married life? You will see when you get older about "manning up"! Lol.

Deciding I may bang it on eBay? Gotta be worth couple hundred easy!

Cheers.

Meh, looking into marriage it seems most men are in controlling relationships, where their wife controls them and dictates what they can and can't buy. I'd rather be single.

I don't plan kids anyway, so no need for me to be married. biggrin

not young or single  lol  Im late 30.s with the wife and two kids around the same age of some on here .   but have spent those years training the wife  and builing two great  brick sheds   built the last one and put upvc patio doors and windows at the front and said here ya go love built ya a summer house and she fell for it even helping out ... she used it for about a month in summer then over the winter motorcycles and parts slowly moved in .

Buy another motorbike when she witholds the bedroom antics, that'll show her! "Well, I can't get my end away, so got a motorbike to make me happy!"

yeah thing is with women you have to start as you mean to go on witht he relationship .

if you let her say what where and when at the start she will do so for ever . I hate see blokes who can not take the bike out with out the wifes say so and even when out they ring every 10 mins
