what is it with biking, it seems a really grumpy scene, the dealers scowl at you when you walk in, the riding schools are grumpy and while they may have a serious task in getting you through a test they could learn a lot about customer service, then the examiners are grumpy to the point of making people more nervous, yes its tough times for everyone but a little smile now and again would go a long way, less and less younger people are getting into bikes , some people say that younger people are becoming more risk averse, and some blame the economy but if more dealers were customer aware it would be a good start, ive been to a few dealers recently and noticed that more often than not they are almost angry that you have walked into there shop, there are some good ones but in my opinion they are the minority.
agree with all you said they are all little hitlers ...
great when you pull out side a bike dealers on a banger or even a cheap £1000 dtr they almost look at you like ur scum and maybe picture you as just a looker not a buyer .. totaly diff story if you pull up on a new ish 1000cc or a nice sports car .
as for the instructors and test blokes they have a little power thing over you they have the power to say if you are going to be rideing a bike this summer or not .
Meh, I couldn't careless if a shop was grumpy when I walked in. Unless they were rude by saying something rude or not helping me, I don't have a problem, I know what I'm looking for, buy my stuff in and out. Job jobbed, I ain't bothered about their rubbish bikes they're trying to sell me, I just want some 2 stroke.
As for training centres, same as above, only go to them to book a CBT or what not. Again, couldn't careless.
But I'm not really a peoples person, I like to keep myself to myself. I'm not like most people that will have an hour long conversation with any Tom, Dick or Harry.
I'd make a complaint, or ask someone else to serve me if they were like that. If no one else was there, I'd go elsewhere simple as.
Or if I wanted to pay for my bike, I'd just pay and be done. I live in a chav area, get this all the time in the local shops. And you get the crack heads trying to fight you and being cocky.
Absolute nightmare in Leicester. Leicestershire isn't too bad, mainly rural areas and posh people, but in Leicester, all chavs with kids for council houses, most are alchoholics or drug addicts. Get people looking for fights all the time, and dogs out of control. If you have a dog smaller than theirs, they'd just leave it off the lead to bite your dog up. Happened all the time when my mum walked her Yorkshire Terrier, ever since we've had our American Bulldog cross Staff, the neighbours haven't let their Staff bitch run up to our Yorkie.

If they refuse to get another sales person, or the next one is the same, just walk out and go elsewhere. Then contact the head quarters with the address and the problem.
My local guys are always nice and polite, but always trying to sell bikes. Tried to sell me a brand new Piaggio Typhoon 50 a year or so ago when I was ordering parts for my 2001 model.

Lol I have just been thinking this myself man, its exactly the same over here! Went into a couple of bike shops while looking for the new bike and got the same vibe off all of them! One of the lads in one of the shops actually walked away while I was asking him a question and went into the office and closed the door behind him! I just said fcuk them and left! I'll spend my money elsewhere thank you very fcuking much!! Will never deal with them again and will tell everyone I know not to do business with them! Them kind of businesses are the ones I wouldn't bat an eyelid over if they closed down tomorrow! Funny enough the first one that was sound to me was the place I've bought my new bike from. That just proves it really..... customer service is everything!
My local Honda dealer are the nicest chaps you'll meet, sorted me out plenty of times, cheap tires, when my bank card wasnt working they let me off with the items haha and just top notch lads!
