Aye a crash can knock someone's confidence! Since my crash I'm a bit scared about getting back on a bike! Just never know what's gonna happen when you climb onboard that bike! But it's a risk we all take and we thrive of the thrill and buzz it gives us!

FASTER FASTER UNTIL THE THRILL OF SPEED OVERCOMES THE FEAR OF DEATH
I ride as a pastime not as a my main form of transport as im a gay and hate the cold and rain, so I just take it easy, but I was thinking the other day sat on my bike riding along surrounded by fools in vans, cars, lorries ,buses that this is actually ****ing dangerous, I actually feel a lot safer raggin a bike around a dirt track doing wheelies and sliding etc , when on the dirt I know a car isn't going to hit me, im thinking of getting a trials bike aswell as my WR to do some trials events as its more down to skill and not outright speed.
i nearly came off mine last night went to fast over a hump back bridge and left the ground **** me thats gotta be the most scary experiance ever lol

i blew my dt up ... but i fixed it.... Then i crashed it.... but i didnt fix it right and 2 scouser's come in the middle of the night and left me with a working bike
You all need to man the **** up **** im laying in hospital after my second op been I hear 3 weeks on sataday all I want to do is get free and work out how to ride the dt with a full cast on.
This is after getting my leg crushed by a 4x4 and I remember the hole thing
Agreed Toy! When i came off, I got straight back on my bike and rode home... admittedly i only did that cos i had a brain injury and so was just mashed up lol refused help from the paramedics and raced home lol glad i did cos i was off the bike and in hospital for a few weeks after and its getting back on the first time thats the hard bit, but id already done it so meh.
Its horrible crashing and you think about it laying in bed etc but you learn from it, slow down a bit and realise you need more experience....you learn that youre not invincible and you need to re-think how you ride....if you dont do that however then its time to stop because you will just keep crashing and one day you wont get up. we have all seen it happen, sometimes really unfortunate accidents at low speed with really safe riders, but mostly to people we know always push it...
For me, riding is like in my blood or something. Ill never be able to give it up, i think about bikes allllll day long. My dad is the same...been in some serious life support crashes, but he is now nearing 60 and he still has 5 bikes including his gsxr 1000 that he still rides on the back wheel like hes 21. To be perfcectly honest, i think the risk is all part of what makes riding what it is...its like shagging in public
Have a break for a bit but will tell you now it won't take long before you get back on one, driving a car is nothing compared to a bike not even a fast one
i nearly came off mine last night went to fast over a hump back bridge and left the ground **** me thats gotta be the most scary experiance ever lol
Ha, I hit country lanes on a regular basis. I have a habit of speeding through the corners, I went and fucked up though! Nearly curbed it on a 30MPH bend doing 40MPH. So close to hitting the curb and wall, my heart sank, was there the next day hooning around. :D
I`ve come off bikes loads of times on road & off roading too with injuries like broken legs and ankle, arms wrist & ribs and collar bone and broken my shoulder several times too. last year I rode a 7-8 mile journey home with a broken shoulder the hardest bit was getting my broken shoulder side on to the handlebar lol. But the journey wasn`t so bad.
You have to accept there is a higher risk factor to having a accident riding a bike. I think alot of people go round thinking it wont happen to them as when you ride a bike for so long they get in a confendence zone or even over confiedent at times too, as they feel cos they can handle the machine and they have had a certain amount months/years under there belt riding. How wrong are they for thinking this way lol. The best of the best crash fall/slip off.
So it doesn`t mean your a ****e rider or have a lack of skills take Toys case for e.g it wasn`t his riding skills that day he was just unlucky being in the wrong place that day on the road. So I look at it when i`m out there expect the unexpected when out on the roads the same as i do with other motorist out on the road.
I agree It can make people nervous getting back on, I have had this felt like this in the past. It is natrual to feel this way after all we have injured ourselves & have had the aches pains restless nights and disablement to proove this. We are only skin & bone. I don`t now as ive said already maybe as I`ve broken too many parts in the past to care or worry now tbh lol. But just except it guys if you go out on a bike expect the fact if you come of its more than likely its gonna hurt weither it be you or your bike. If you can deal live & cope with that then cool if not I think you should hang the gloves and helmet up

I'm not too concerned about the fact of coming off, I know I've fucked a bone or two up when I come off.
Just thinking about the time on crutches or what not when I do bin it that annoys me. :/ 6-8 weeks or more without a bike.
Bikes are my addiction, I don't think I'd be able to cope with a life without bikes. It'd be so boring in a car, sitting in traffic. I guess the closest compare would be to bone your celebrity crush, and then getting a chick you aren't attracted to. I just don't feel much for cars, hence not taking up driving lessons, yet my mum offered to pay I told her I wasn't interested in cars.
I'm going to be going a week or two without my DT soon. I'm stripping it all down and getting rid of the rust on the frame and spraying it black. And looking into doing a supermoto conversion whilst at it.
Mate you shouldn't dismiss your car license. Especially if they're offering to pay. At the end of the day cars are just more practical. And it's not boring. Listen to the radio. Have a few mates in the car. Pull up to fast food. Sit and chill watch the world go by in a nice warm car.
You may not have the money to pay and learn to drive. So take it up now whilst the chance is free. I was the same. Mum and dad paid for my driving lessons. Passed and barely driven since. But its there. Done. In the bank. I can literally buy another car whenever and drive. But i would rather ride.
You should just enjoy riding your bike, the only regrets you should have is the split second you came off. "Oh, I was going too quick for the corner and fell off" then next time you'll go slower, then your confidence will build and you'll be all good.
