Yeah same as that man, dont ever let people ride nine
But in this case id say different as hes about to sell his to get a car lol.... Just dont blame me if the feds pull him over on it lol, go somewhere quiet if your gonna let him ;) haha
I would say 4T`s are better for commuting and everyday use. They tend to be more reliable, less maintenance in the long run, proberly abit cheaper to insure too as they dont kick out as much power as the 2T, 4T`s are proberly better on fuel though
2T`s on the other hand are alot more fun - fuel consumption is not greatest. Due to the fact they need higher RPM's just to move at a decent pace. As they say, more smiles per miles though.
If you're doing alot of commuting or have to commute a long journey, the 4 stroke is a better option But thats my own opinion. The 2T is more of a social bike, sort of a weekend blast and something to have fun on - BUT if you dont mind less MPG then they are great fun bikes to have I was brought up on 2T`s and they will always be a place in my garage for one.
I have owned a 4T bike and in all honesty the 2T has always been the better bike, and although the fuel consumption is alot more with the 2T its always fun to ride and gives me a smile every time I ride one. The first time I hit the power-band was on an IT 250 when I was 11 I was amazed at the power it had; from then on ive been hooked ever since. I do like the KTM 4T`s they are nice looking bikes, but they do need to be maintained regularly to last.
Bikes that are usualy bored out to a higher cc, tend to start having reliability issues after a while.
To be honest, if you keep the 2 stroke maintained well and regular services, let her warm up properly before going into high RPM's, keep it topped up with good 2 stroke oil you should be alright. I won`t give up on the 2T even if its classed as an Evil bike emmisions wise and all that
2T Till I die AMEN

I agree Nath 4T are animals over the 250. I suppose in a way I`m kinda biased as I love the 2T but I can only agree really the 4T can be just as fun so yeah your right mate

tbh really these bikes are a bit of a waste of money great fun yes ,reliable no definetely not no matter what people say about maintenance .the fact that once you get to 12k you have to rebuild is ridiculous .if i could turn the clock back i would have bought another xr that thing went and went 25k on the clock and didnt miss a beat
4Ts over 250 are animals Ralzybaby, bare in mind the torque on them will rip the nipples off a tiger, then you get the engine braking if you bank it into a corner in 4th at about 50 drop it down 2 cloggs you'll be going sideways, having said that, i'd have another 2t any day without a doubt, but 4ts can be just as fun!
You're just unlucky still. I rag the tits of my dt everywhere and it hasn't skipped a beat. Thing gets thrashed snd yet starts up fine. Luck of the draw i guess.
thats the difference right there nath m8 rag a 2stroke till it pops pennys to fix even fix at the roadside with some bits an tools break a 4t an there not easy to fix , i just put a new piston in a mates pulse adreneline what a nightmare an it still goes like a bag of poo .
