Converting dtx to dtr
Permalink

Basically i have an 07 dtx and ive started motocross and can no longer resist the urge to just go green laning.

Anyone know what needs to be changed? Will it be fairly simple or should i just sell up and get a dtre?

Cheers

P.s im using my mates profile to create this post

People will be willing to swap there enduro setup for your dtx sm setup, if you want to do that post in the wanted section to see if you can swap with someone

No point selling to get a RE id say, your most likely lose money, find problems with the new bike etc, but its up to you... Otherwise look on ebay for some dtr/re forks and wheels, not hard to change over but once again youve got the risk of buying shagged forks and wheels, dtrs are so common youd probably be able to get some forks and wheels locally if you tried, so many spares out there for them

Also you can get a bracket made up for the dtx calliper so that you can use the dtx forks, calliper and oversized disc with the dtr enduro wheels

However thought of joining too or you just wanting to use us and fook off mate???

Seems a bit much using your mates account to get our help

Ive been trying to get an account and become a regular user of this site to learn and share everything about the dt125, but ive been waiting a while now for my email to be 'approved by an admin'

Yeh sorry i didn't know you guys were so hot on people introducing themselves and actually earning there place as a member; ive just posted on so many random forums before, got the information i need, then buggered off.

hopefully i can become a member soon and start looking at meeting up with everyone on the bike meets :)

Need DTR forks, DTR speed-o drive and DTR wheels. Job done I think.

At least its vice versa for a DTX conversion to a DTR (which is more popular)

Not sure why you would want to though mate. Be much better if you just buy the dtr wheels and just make a few mods so it all fits. And have both

Yeah that's always an option! If youve never ridden off road wheels on the road...its not that much fun in the wet etc...

I'm on DTR wheels, and its all good, until it comes to stopping.

Put it at this, doing 50 MPH and braking hard for a red light I nearly shit myself! Back wheel slid out, overshot the lights and had to push my bike back behind the line.

If i were you mate id do this. Buy the dtr wheels. Buy a disc that is bigger than the dtr disc And fit it to the dtr wheels. Then if it over shoots the mounting points have a bracket made up so it fits. I think NORFE fitted an rs125 front disc on his dt wheels.

DTX has better front brake. DTR front brake is poo, so to compensate, back brake is needed. wink
