You will find its not the parking in cycle bay isn`t the reason they issued the ticket its because you are parked on the path thats where they have got ya. Nothing to do with bays etc
yeh ive just read over it and it was a "Penalty Charge Notice from St Helens Council for a breach of the off-street parking regulations" but seriosly where i am i supose to park my bike and there was a barrier to let cars in and out because the square is a parking spot for sunday bible bashers

id say i had to park there as it was the only place to chain my motorbike to it is a high risk area and my offroad style bike worth £2000 would be stolen if i left it in the road un chained.
my friend managed to get out of a ticked by saying the bike had been moved i had left the bike in the bike bay but someone has moved my bike to take the bay and they let him off so wroth a try
ino and i asked the man who gave me a ticket where can i park legaly and he said where the other cars park like in a car park where i cannot lock it up tbh im fuming

hmm it is **** but trying to appeal is a waste of time normally. We used to get this in the works van a lot....basically when we were unloading we could park up and get away with it for like 20 mins even if on double yellows...but sometimes the road was really narrow so we sloped it up on the kerb to let traffic past but we got a ticket and the guy said you can unload for twenty mins and its fine but park on the pavement ant its an insta-ticket. We were like...but if we stop and unload we block the whole road, he said yeah just dont park on the kerb. Tossers. We got done loads by those camera vans!
I just park in pay and display carpark....you cannot display a ticket so its freeee
I went in a paid my fine today and i asked them where can i park in st helens leagaly and he went a car park and i went okay where can i park and lock it up ? and he went no where.

Thank you for contacting St Helens Council with your parking enquiry. Your bicycle is a motorised vehicle and there are signs displayed on the entrance to the Pedestrian Zone to indicate the restriction of motor vehicles. The bicycle bays are for bicycles only.
You may park your vehicle on any car park or on-street parking bay provided a parking fee is paid. However, if you need to chain your motor cycle up, then at the moment there is only one area which is temporarily available and that is just off Library Street next to the Indian restaurant.
The Council's scrutiny committee are currently reviewing car parking within the town centre and this includes motor cycle parking. If the committee identifies any further areas that are suitable, then these areas will be advertised on council's website.
I hope this is of assistance to you.
Yours sincerely
Karen Spencer Parking Operations Manager

I saw a thing about something like this on tv a few years ago, in London people were covering there plates with carrier bags and the like to avoid tickets, as the ticket wardens are not allowed to touch the bikes. But this was a few years ago so they might have closed that loop hole by now.
If I was a traffic warden in that situation I wouldn't even bother, just move on to the next car. Would be there all day checking them all, not worth it IMHO.
Ah i see what hes done. Sorry on my iphone. Has he just bashed on loads of pay and display tickets. Mate if that were me i'd have a fair few more than that. But to befair there is probably some legislation that if they have multiple ones then ticket them.
They'd take photos of stuff like that to use as a record. But if thats not true then thats a mint idea.
