Helmets that cost silly money like £400 are just pointless. They do the same purpose in a crash as a £20 one (if its up to the UK regulations). So spending that much on a lid can't be justified in my opinion. I just buy a helmet that fits, one that'll stop my head from getting mangled in an off, but won't have me in a panic about replacing due to stupid prices.

Rather spend the money on other gear, like proper boots to save my toes when I'm skidding across the tarmac.

Not true, high end helmets have much better safety features then cheap helmets, I'd never see myself paying under £100 for a helmet! On one of my motocross helmets it had easy removal cheek pads which would pull out so the helmet would just slide of really easy with it pressing on the head or causing a strain on the neck, plus higher end helmets are usually a lot lighter than cheaper helmets and id rather have a light as I don't ride around with my leatt on

Weight doesn't mean nothing. Man up dudeeeeeeeeee. I get cheap job helmets. And some guy on another forum has never paid over £50 on lids, and his falling off bikes on a regular basis, he gives Nath a run for his money on the crash score.

If the helmet is up to the EU regulations, then it wouldn't be no different in terms of protection to a £700 helmet. Yes, they may be lighter or have fancy wind stuff, but in an off, they'll all do the same purpose.

Naths right. If you're nervous then i wouldn't even bother getting back on the bike. You need to mellow out.

If you're riding st 30mph with all the right gear you're going to be ok.

If you've checked the bike over and confident that its all ok then the bike won't fail you. Only your ability to ride will.

i had a no fear cheap mx lid once and that was about £50-60 and it felt horrible, since then had a fly one and a 661 for a lot more and its 1000% times comfier more rigid and lighter

i have a 661 kid and tbh i dont like it really cheaply made the padding is shocking and flimsy.

my £25 hjc mx lid is 100% better then my £40 reducted from £80 661 lid

Look alright them, still undecided to getting a dualsport lid or another street lid, there is nothing like having a street lid in winter as your face dont get cold plus you dont have to worry about taking goggles off to unsteam them or get the rain off in the wet

im going to get a duel sports lid soon.

i love the peak on my mx lid but doing around a ton with goggles on is not fun after a wile and if you put them on the chin bar you end up geting strangled XD

I`m looking at getting duel sports too for the above reasons plus you get some with sun visors. I know you can get the tinted lenses for goggles as ive got some. Duel sports just seems a better all round solution for what I want from a helmet apart from saving me from being a window licker in an accident that is
