Been hearing mixed stories in relation to passenger pegs, are the necessary for an MOT or not?

Pillion foot rests are not required on motor bicycles that only have a single seat. In addition some motor bicycles used on or after 14 June 1993, which are intended to carry a passenger may not be fitted with footrests but with hand holds attached to the motor bicycles frame adjacent to, or part of the seat.

there it is

Yep that's correct. I think it's defined as there being a gap between the two seats, as long as it is one continuous one you will be fine

Yeah grade A BS that, my mot tester told me if you have no passenger footpegs, you don't even legally have to have indicators!

Mirrors and indicators aren't legal requirements, if my bike failed its MOT for any of these reasons I'd be giving them a lecture about it not being a legal requirement then going home and finding something to back up my argument on the Gov's website and be back the next day with it.
Just whack some black duct tape over the turning switch for the indicators, can't fail you.

Can also do the same for miles, whack black duct tape over the glass of the clock, no mileage can be read then. Stops insurance companies that say you can do X amount of miles per year. They ask for the MOT before & after to compare miles. Not when no miles are shown, hahaha.

Lol. Took my dt for the mot. When i did an mot check online it shows the increment if mileage and now the sudden decrement to 120 miles since i've got different clocks. I dis say they're different clocks. He said not his problem. He's just going to write down what is there. Doesn't care whether it's accurate or not. Made me lol.

The mileage is just for record details there is no requirement - even if the digital clocks are broken they just don't fill in the field.

Mileage is irrelevant to a test that is soley there to prevent unsafe vehicles being on the road. The speedo doesnt need to work either.
