It is mad how they hold the price in very late 80s a new DTR would set you back around £1,600 and look how they fair up now

I'm after £1100 for mine 2003 with a few extras and engine mods-looks tatty but hey she has had money spent on the engine not cosmetically.
They do go for silly money I paid £1400 for mine a year ago

No money in the world could strip me from my dt. Well. No reasonable offer. Of course if you offered me like 5k i'd accept. But at the moment i've spent too much time money on it and haven't fully reaped the rewards. Want to get the engine tuned so that i'm not getting ripped up by every chavey going.

The £ was worth more money back then. Don't forget we're in different times now. Our £ is worth hardly anything these days.

I sold this recently as everyone knows for £1500, so as prices are going I gave it away then considering its original unrestored condition save for cosmetics and low mileage of just over 1000 ?

I sold this one about a year ago for £1800, this was a show condition fully restored to original bike with all genuine Yamaha parts, it even had a nos tank on it. The only none standard bits were the exhaust. Mind you I thought it went to cheap at the time but it had loads of enquirys and only one person turn up to see it.

I think you should of pushed for more Scrim considering the mileage aswell as it being all original mate. But thats just my opinion as I feel you did give it away too cheaply

I payed  £2000 for mine was imaculate all original not even de restricted 1 previous owner fsh i think it was 5-7k on the clock cant remember I would have to look at my photos and paperwork that was on an 02

Im just glad it went to a mature owner, I refused to sell it to a young kid on ebay just made excuses. I think I will hold out for £1700 for my White G reg one if I can get it finished before I go into hospital next week. Its a canny bike 2 previous owners before me the last since 91 with only 2900 miles on the clock.

I think I better chav it then up rather than make it look totally original....... :)....... :(

Ive already took the DEP silencer off it so I can put a standard one on it, better put it back on sharpish......... :)

Just to conclude the amount of £1,200 back in 1989 is worth the best part of £1,789.68 in todays monies

So i calculate there is about £589.68 difference bearing in mind these bikes are not new as like say Scrims was back in 1989
I still say they are fairing up well still

How much were they in 2007 when the last of the 2006 models was leaving the dealers, around £3400 I think but im not to sure ? The last brand new one I bought was a Blue 2000 model back in January 2001 on a X reg and it was £2600 and I sold it for £1800 in 2003 still as new with 2000 ish miles on the clock.

"Just to conclude the amount of £1,200 back in 1989 is worth the best part of £1,789.68 in today's monies" Is that it that's a surprise but yeah prices only go up.

I still say some of the bikes I see on ebay are way overpriced for what they are, like I say though that's just my opinion and they are worth what a buyer sees in a bike and what they are willing to pay.

I have seen the pictures of your Black 03 DT Ralzy, you can see it was as new and worth what you paid for it.

I still dont value this one on ebay at a grand though at the end of the day its not registered, the engine needs a full tear down, the tank is dented the plastics are scratched etc etc and there is no import paperwork to say the import duty has been paid.  It looks OK but at the end of the day it still needs a lot of work.

Same bike in White, full mot. Fresh topend rebuild ride it away finished on 770 quid on ebay. Good base for a full rebuild, it kinda puts the Blue one into perspective

I got original receipt for the dt when it was sold from the local yammy dealership in 2007, brand new RE model with rare decals for £2995
