disagree sure he could have got this same bike and year for maybe 4-500 cheaper give or take delivery charges ect ect .

but I also have seen this listed and the going rate is around 1100 upto 1600 and some have double or tripple the miles done or are miles away from his location .

nice bike mate and hope you have many many hours of rideing her

Hi all. I just thought I'd share a few pics of my new bike with you fellow bike nerds. Here we have my '96 CBR 600 F3. It's got 15k on the clock and is totally standard. I payed £1695 for it, which is kinda high but he would not budge on price. I'm picking it up next week with a years tax and mot, a full service and 3 month warranty. Oh, its just had the cam chain tensioner done too :D This also means my DT 125 will be up for sale soon. I guess I should put it on here as well as gumtree/biketrader?

Whilst I do hear ya, find me something better for that price that ain't 200 miles away from my house. Also, something better that can be used as a tourer in a pinch. That was £200 over my budget really and I could not find anything that I liked that wasn't trash for cheaper. Plenty of CBR's around, not very many as good as that one. The ones that are are over 2K. Tbh I think it's worth every penny mate. I payed more for my DT.

I bought a VFR750 for 1K a few days back. That needed work lol. So much work that I took it straight back the next day and got a refund. I want something sorted mate to do some serious mileage with the Mrs on. CBR600F fits the bill and it really is the cheapest one in that condition for miles.

Here's a pic of my VFR that I owned for 1 day :D

But then you'd have an older VFR, with more miles in not as good condition for the same money - that's even if it could have been sorted for £700 which imo was doubtful. It would still have felt worn out. There are a lot of VFR's about under 2k but most are not as sorted as the CBR I just bought. Believe me, I've looked at loads. A VFR was my first choice - lovely bikes.

I agree with toy in the respect that honestly you paid too much. I only say that though 'cos I know a guy selling a f3 for £500 quid in yellow. It has a missing fairing and a broken nosecone but rides and is on 23k, No service done apart from the needed..

Saying that, I know **** all about how much anything is worth so.. crack on. Just please change that exhaust lol. :)

R6's aren't worth that much, surely?

They're revvy little things. The type of bikes to blow up within a summer.

Easy mate theres loads with bids at 1700   general prices range 1550 1600 1700 1810 right up to as high as 2295 iv seen  the 5eb model sell for , if it ever   blows up   buy another engine job  done or stick a new cylinder on an pistons an away you go,  handles a dream  goes like stink  even in the hot hot hot  sits at 85C

the only thing to worry about is 2nd an 6th gears jumping from previous abuse  ( wheelies )

If the box is damaged from wheelies, it must have been a amateur doing wheelies. hmm

No its a common design flaw by yamaha on the r6 at  about 20k  to big a gap between 1st an 2nd is the culprit  yamaha are claiming rider abuse causes wear  ,  with 3 badly shaped machined pinions on the 2nd an 6th gear that lock them in place yamaha claims theres no design flaw there but if so  why did they change the design in 2003 to a strong 5 pinion cog instead  an the problems solved  ,, I  cant bitch about the r6 anymore ,, i wasnt keen on them to start with ,  but after riding it an throwing  around  there a  strong  enjoyable machine , feels a bit like sitting on a rocket powered pencil wiley cyotee stylee

R6 is widely regarded as the best SS 600 of the late 90's. Would have been my first choice if not for the fact I wanna take a pillion regulalrly. Sorry to hear you had some bad luck with it mate.

The first part of owning a bike is the best time to take loads of pictures, then take more pictures what happens to it in the end. :)

Bonus points for good scenery. :D
