how big ajob is it to remove left hand outer case as needs repainting n never removed one before ? cheers Doo

Really easy. All you need to to is undo all the bolts. Then the generator is held by the two bolts either side of the Yamaha badge.

Be careful and use the right screwdriver because they can sit really tight, I had to saw a notch in two of mine and use a huge flathead screwdriver

or you could just leave the generator in place on the caseing ?
