Anyone come across this ??

Ive got a missfire/problem at high revs that is proving to be a pain in the ass.

Up to now ive changed the carb, changed the stator, flywheel, coil, new plug, and new oil.Im thinking CDI but wanted to see if anyone has come across this problem before i set it on fire.

It will rev and ride great up to around 6-8k then starts to stutter and miss as though it wants to go but wont.

When revs are held full open it gets to 8-10k then acts like in the video.Occasionally it will rev full throttle and gives it all then it drops off again.

Take a look see what you reckon?

Could be dodget ht lead. Or faulty coil. Misfiring. It's only going to be a few things.

Ive tried 2 coils and they were both the same mate.

Im saying its a missfire because this is how it seems looking at the dash when the spark drops out although there is no backfire or popping.

Im not sure what problems are associated with CDI's

Faulty plug! I get this when my plug is oiled up in fact I have it now, I've had my plug in for months now so popping a new one in now!!

I replaced an iridium plug with a standard no9 ngk I found in the garage which turned out to be faulty so I've just replaced that with an iridium and she pulled up to 75mph no Botha!!

You need to check distance of the probe on end of plug but personally I would buy a second plug in case that one is faulty!!

Cheers dread,ken

I have replaced the plug with a brand new 9ES gapped @ 0.8mm,

Although it is not an iridium and there is no arcing as I have a new NGK plug cap.

Does anyone have 3rm 30 CDI can try?

You got exhaust wadding in the DEP? I had similar problems and it turned out to be my exhaust padding. Pull the end off your DEP, take the baffle and wadding out, warm it up, try again.

Except mine wasn't popping etc.

Yeah it turned out to be an air problem as mentioned,in that it needed about a gallon more of the stuff and eventually I settled on a 260 jet.

It needed the snorkel off and abit more.

Currently got holes in the fllter lid until I can figure  a way of getting more air in wthout it being all barpy.
